I don't know what I would have done if we would have had to wait until the end of the day for our ultrasound. The suspense of having to wait until 9:00am was enough! Then they put you into the room, staring at a flat screen TV with a blank image (well our TV screen said BOY, was that a sign?) and make you wait for the doctor. Luckily we didn't have to wait long.
The doctor did his thing, looked at all body parts and organs and said the baby was perfect and that it has long legs. I tried not to ask too many questions but kept finding myself asking "what's that" since the image on screen looked like a blob. Only when he got to the head did I actually know what I was looking at. I still look back at the DVD and can't recongize much of it. When the doctor was done he asked if we had any questions. I had been waiting for him to ask the infamous "Would you like to know what it is?" question but that didn't happen. So when he asked if we had any questions we were like "What is it?". He paused for a minute and said "It's going to be a young lady!". He printed out a couple of pictures (after having to go back and find her lady parts so that he could print out the "money shot") and we were done. While we were waiting for the technician to finish our DVD the text went out to the family letting them know it was a girl!
We uploaded the video (click on the word video), when you think you get to the end you aren't done, wait about 30 seconds and then there will be the part where he comes back to show us it's a girl. The baking soda and ring on a strand of hair wives tales were right!

After we were done with the ultrasound we went downstairs to see the OB. We saw a different doctor this time as my regular doctor wasn't at the hospital office this day. At one point during your pregnancy you have to see all the doctor's so you aren't surprised on delivery day. It was a short visit like last time, except this time I actually had a little belly for them to measure. He said something about 20 and me having a long torso, I was still in awe from the ultrasound that I really wasn't paying attention, I'll ask my regular doc on the next visit. We got to tell him that "it" was a she, he found her heartbeat and it was measuring a strong 145. It was then time to go on to work and let everyone else know.
Nana is sooooo excited about having a little girl to spoil!
