It just seems like the time has flow by since the holidays and we are now already in February! I'm going to update the rest of J's 13th month then catch-up on what's happened in the last two weeks. It would be nice to have more than five minutes at work where I scoff down my food at lunch to be able to get the blog updated. Hopefully my crazy schedule will calm down!
I already posted the video with J pat-a-caking by herself. She also has started to grasp the concept of the Itsy Bitsy Spider. We were watching football (and she was in the pack-n-play with all her toys, to include her ride-on) and all of a sudden she started throwing her hands over her head. At first I thought she was doing touchdown but then realized that her puppy was singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and she was making hand motions to that! Duh Mom and Dad! But we do need to work on touchdown before next season!
We've also noticed a lot more development with her fine motor skills this month. She is trying to put the shapes through the sorter and trying to put puzzle pieces back where they go. She is also fascinated with this ball/widget (it's on the right side of the playpen in the video) toy and stacks the widgets and then of course knocks them down. She also knows eyes, hair, nose and teeth and will point to them on you, she knows her hair too and loves to help brush her hair herself.
We had the "crud" that is going around Dallas (Mommy is still tackling it) and it kept J up coughing a few nights (we thought it might be teething but no signs of any more teeth) where we were drawing steam showers at 2am and giving her cuddle time in the rocker.
She adjusted well going back to school over the holidays and we phased out the bottle during the day so that she could start to transition to the Toddler 1 room with all of her friends. We should have just gone cold turkey like a couple other kids and cut the bottle out completely but we didn't, hopefully we don't have a fight in the next few months when we need to eliminate it completely! In the new room she will have to sleep on a cot (which she has done well with), get's to eat at a little person table and on a chair, they have a curriculum to include reading, circle, music, art time and get to go outside (when the weather allows them too at this time of the year). She is doing well with her milk in a cup at school (and sometimes at home) but still get's be to give in when she goes running to the fridge screaming baba and tried to open the door! Someone is a fan of Justin Bieber and while she says "baby, baby, baby, oh" we can't it on video so we can tweet it to him!
We had some new words this month, which I updated on her word log, and by far her new favorite word is PASTA! This kid LOVES pasta and I think would eat it for every meal if I let her. She finally tried real sweet potato and liked it (mommy might have just put a little too much brown sugar in it) and is a little cookie monster, she says cookie almost as much as pasta! She eats like a race horse, shoveling food in as fast and as many piece in as she can. Sometimes I think most get's swallowed whole since their is clearly not enough time to chew.
We're in all 12 month clothes now, she can't wear capri's in the winter, and loves to wear her hat and jacket, she even goes to her closet and points to wear them even when it's not cold enough. Sunglasses have become her new accessory and she thinks it is funny when we wear them, especially daddy in her red sparkly star pair!
The 13 month album is updated with a few more pictures (most all still from the holiday).
Finally!!! Once a month is not nice.... I miss the blog a lot! Especially now that she is doing so many things. Made my day, my week, my month!!!!
