16 months

REWIND...Yes I've been slacking (I don't need to be reminded), but hey 16 months (plus while I was pregnant) without a hiccup does deserve some credit on my end, my sister fell off the bandwagon WAY before now :) Again, thank goodness for pictures and videos to help me remind myself of the month! Things just seem to be a blur nowadays.

J's doing great at school. She loves her teacher Ms. B and her friends. She is starting to get a little antsy and bored in her room, she should be transitioning to the 18-24 month room next month. She did get her first "bite" mark from her little friend Emma (the teacher told me who it was even though she wasn't supposed too), if J was the one biting everyone would know by just the two teeth marks! She had her first Easter egg hunt at school, daddy and I missed it, but I was able to make it for the party and got to have lunch with J. I would have though she would have been excited to see me in the middle of the day...boy was I wrong. When I walked in she was sitting in the front of the circle reading books with Ms. B. She gave me the look like "why are you here" and continued to talk and point at the pictures. I sat on the floor and all of her little friends came up to me, gave me hugs, and sat in my lap. After about 10 minutes someone finally came over and saw me for a mere 10 seconds then she was back to her bossy self and trying to take control of the class (and the teacher said no she wasn't just acting up because I was there, this was her normal self). Guess I shouldn't worry about how she is while I am at work, she's just fine!

We went to Camille's 5th birthday party (hard to believe she is 5 already) at ASI Gymnastics. J had a great time running around, playing in the little tikes area, ball pit and on the trampoline. Of course she wanted to do what the big kids were doing, there were a couple of other little ones to help keep her occupied. When we left she was EXHAUSTED and on a sugar high from eating an entire cupcake. exhaustion + sugar high = a not so pleasant baby!

The next day was Easter. The Easter Bunny was very generous at our house, J didn't know what to do with all of the baskets of goodies and she loved to throw the grass around (that ended up in the trash pretty quickly). After the torture picture at Christmas with Santa I decided to skip the EB this year. We got to see the Gibson clan again and had brunch at the Cheesecake Factory. For being 17 months, J was good, daddy only had to take her outside once for screaming, screaming of excitement not screaming from being pissed off. We had a nice brunch and does J love her some Mille :)

J's word log is definitely a thing of the past now. There is no way I can keep up with the words this child puts out on a daily basis. Her vocabulary is probably pushing 75 words by now and she doesn't shut up! She is constantly talking and my new name for her is "repeat", she's like a parrot, she hears something and says it right back. She has also gotten very much into bags and purses this month, they have to go with us everywhere we go, and of course have to be full of everything she can manage to jam inside them, the joys of a little girl, why can't we just take a car with us and call it a day???

We had visitors this month, Aunt Boo and Uncle Mikey came to spend a long weekend with us. J loves her some Mikey (poor Boo, it pisses her off at how attached she is to Mikey, the one video is proof) and the two of them are like two peas in a pod. They brought us pastalitos and croquettas from Miami, J got her first real taste of Cuban food and loved them, who wouldn't? We had a nice visit, What's a visit without a trip to Hard 8 for some BBQ? We also went to the park and J had her first trip to the zoo. As always, four days flew by way to fast. they'll just have to come back and visit.
