Shouldn't all birthdays last more than a day? That is definitely what you need to do with kids (and adults too) so that they aren't overwhelmed, well they still are overwhelmed, it is just more spread out. J's 2nd birthday turned into a three day fest of present opening, facetiming with family and having parties.Like the year she was born it was pretty cold outside and new toys that were waiting were just what we needed to get the weekend started. Saturday we let her open her new kitchen which she loved and played with most of the day. We baked cupcakes for her "very small" party on Sunday, hung out and watched "Go Canes".
Sunday we made more cupcakes for school, J helped put the pink sprinkles
on them and pushed the Cinderella rings into the tops, she was such a
good little helper. Later that afternoon our Dallas family came over for
some pizza and cupcakes (two of J's favorites), she opened a few
presents and blew out her candle all by herself!
Monday was J's actual birthday and no I did not get up at 4:13am this year to check in on her. My internal alarm clock didn't even go off, this mommy is tired these days and sleeps like a rock, the pregnant lady is very grateful for being able to still sleep! Mommy and daddy took cupcakes to school for J at afternoon snack time. Mommy made WAY to many cupcakes, I forgot that most of the kids in her class (there are usually 16 and only a handful were there) were out for the holiday so everyone got two cupcakes, I'm sure the parent's loved me when they picked up their wired kids. We sang to J (her little friend R is the one little girl singing loud) and the kids went to town, there was cake and icing everywhere!
When we got home we facetimed with all of the family, opened more gifts and then ate dinner, pancakes and strawberries at her request, she didn't even want a cupcake, I think she was sugared out. To the fun year that is ahead and the start of her 4th chapter...
Here are the rest of her birthday pictures. Still waiting on the pictures we took the other weekend.
