This month started off with a visit from the ATL crew, our first trip to the beach and lots of fun. But as I always say...lots of fun is exhausting (with five, soon to be six little ones)! The kids all had a great time hanging out and playing together, this was only the second time they are all together, was nice since they had just seen each other at Easter and only a few months had passed. They all came over (and slept over) and we had a BBQ and played in our pool. We also spent a day/night out with them at the beach, the kids had fun playing in the sand (both C's, just like last time, spent most of the time eating in the shade). My C did make it to play in the sand for a little while and had fun attempting to build sandcastles (probably with food in her hand) with Aunt Fonz, she wasn't a fan of the wavy water. We saw some dolphins and collected a few shells.
When we pulled the kids out of daycare I wondered (I don't want to say worried and this seems like a good word to use) about C, her developmental skills and the fact that she wouldn't be going back to school until after she was two. When J was this age she was in FT daycare and learning so much that they moved her up in classes months before she was supposed to go into them. Well after five months at home with mom (and J) I no longer have to wonder if C is learning what she should be at her age. This kid is a sponge and it is scary to have a second child be so smart and young. I always go back and read J's post for the corresponding month before I write for C and they have done things pretty much like a book. I know we all shook (and still shake) our head at how smart we thought (and still think) J is and I find myself (and we all do) shaking my head many times a day at what C does and says. Her vocabulary is phenomenal and she picks new words up after only saying them one time, or not even saying them to her at all and just listening to our conversations and ease dropping! I called J a parrot at this age, clearly we have another parrot.
She is counting to 10 and that was learned from her sister and watching Jake and the Pirates (see you can learn something from TV!) and we are starting on the ABC's and colors. She loves her "puffles" and is turning the pieces to make them fit instead of throwing them. She says "turn-it" and has a little patience while trying to make pieces fit before giving me the piece and asking me to "turn-it" for her.
We all caravaned down to Miami to celebrate the impending arrival of their new baby cousin (due beginning of August). Miss C didn't make the cut for the baby shower (hence why we have no pictures), it was during her nap time, but did get to come over at the end to meet some people (get shown off by Nana) and hang out with her cousins one last time before they headed back home. Hopefully we will get to make a trip up to see them this fall in their new house. We spent the following week in Miami while daddy traveled hanging out and helping get ready for Nana and Pop's move. Father's Day was spent driving back from Miami but we did take daddy to the Ale House for lunch when we got home (and remembered to snap a picture)!

I posted a few weeks back about her saying her own name and recognizing herself. She is doing better wtih her name and always wants my phone so that I can put on the camera to see herself (a little narcissist!). She has three more teeth coming in (another on the bottom and then two molars on top, nine teeth) and got to go with me to take J to the dentist where they gave her a princess tooth brush. She was doing well with me brushing her teeth, then I decided to try some toothpaste and she wasn't a fan, now she won't let me in there to brush. She got her second haircut, her hair was out of control, humidity control might be in the daily routine for the girls soon, summer is giving them out of control curls and clown hair!
As I know I've said on other posts the girls love to dance. The problem is they love to spin and what happens? Someone ends up crashing into something, falling and crying and most of the time it is C!
Here are the pictures from the month.
