54 months

We spent the last few weeks of summer (C got an extended summer vacation as school for her didn't start until the end of August) having fun with friends. We went bowling and in two hours the little kids got through three games (and not with too many melt downs). C loves to bowl, and dance and shake her booty while she watches the ball head down the lane. Every time we go she tries to bowl without the ramp but her ball is slow as molasses, we'll stick to the ramp for now as she does well with it and manages to get some spares in her game! She is a shark (and dancing queen) on the lane! The hot summer days continued to call for some pool time even though the girls were starting to turn into raisins! Playing red light, green light at the pool with friends makes for a more enjoyable time by all, it's amazing when you are with friends how much longer the girls swim and want to stay. Mom swim lessons came to an end, the girls worked really hard this summer learning new skills and perfecting what they already knew. For her age C is doing amazing, she has gotten her floating down and can roll to her back to take a breath when she swims, side breathing is next for her! The mermaid is going to miss the pool, once it gets too cold, thank goodness G&G have a heater on theirs!

Summer couldn't come to an end without a trip to see the Mouse, and yes in almost 100 degree weather! The Friday before J started school we headed to check out Toy Story Land with some friends! There is something about Disney with more kids that make it even more magical, as long as everyone is behaving! We got there when the park opened, sprinted to the area and still had to wait over an hour to ride Slinky Dog. While I waited in line for the coaster, the kids went and met Jessie and Woody, the girls had never met them so they were excited. The line which was much shorter than the coaster actually took longer to get through, I guess because it was so hot the characters had to take lots of breaks. When we finally got to ride, C was a little timid at first but giggled and held on for dear life as we rode. Mommy thought the ride was AWESOME, everyone had fun and the girls even said they would go again! We got to ride the Toy Story ride twice because our game broke down at the end, C loves this ride and can actually score some points! We cooled off in the Disney Junior show and the kids had fun signing and dancing their little hearts out, right up C's alley. We saw the Muppets (yay for more AC) and went on Toy Story one more time before we decided to call it a day at lunchtime, it was hot and there was a big rain storm moving in. We made it to the car just before it poured, stopped for some lunch and then headed home, I thought we would have lost the kids in the car but they all stayed awake for the ride home. It was a quick but fun morning with friends and worth the drive just to ride Slinky Dog. We can't wait to go back and take daddy (and hopefully the girls will live up to their promise of riding again)!

Aunt Boo and the kiddos came to visit for a few days while the little kids were still out of school. C was with me when last minute plans were made that morning and kept a secret from J. They were here that night by dinner time and they girls were excited to see how big baby A had gotten in just a few weeks. Hanging out for a few days was just what we needed, we went out to lunch, took them to the new donut shop, swam and played with everything imaginable in the house. C loved playing with baby A on her mat and worked with her on rolling over, she was deemed the baby roller as she could get her to roll over pretty much every time she tried! She loves her Cabbage Patches and A is her real one!

As if going to Disney once in the heat of August wasn't enough we went back a second time. C and I had a date with friends to the Magic Kingdom the Friday before school started, we planned it perfectly as the Halloween Decorations were just going up, but there is just something wrong with pumpkins in 95 degree heat! We were in the park just after it opened and to our surprise the park wasn't overly crowded and we got to do quite a lot. We couldn't let the day go by without a trip to see Elena (somehow we managed to miss Ariel) or ride the carousel, two must haves every time we visit. It was a great and magical day but by 2:30pm (it was hot and going to rain) we decided to call it a day and head home. We got home just in time for the afternoon downpour to start, daddy had his fantasy football draft and J was at G&G's house so C and I continued our day together with dinner out and some snuggles on the couch while we watched a movie. We spend a lot of time together but I always feel we are running so it was nice to have a quality day with her.

The two weeks between the girls starting school went by so slow, I think even C was anxious and ready to start school. The week before school started we went and met her teacher, her teacher this year is Ms. Crystal and she keeps saying "no not my mommy!". She is in the same classroom J had for VPK but it looks much different, it's amazing what fresh paint and some new tables and chairs do to a room. The kids got to check out their new room (and toys) and then headed to play on the playground while the mommies got the lowdown on the year. When Monday finally came for C to start VPK I couldn't help but "gulp" a little,  to think this is our last year in preschool made me a little sad but I am looking forward to them being back in the same school and on the same schedule next year. She walked into the school that morning head held high like she owned the place, she and only two other VPKers have been there since they were in the two year old class, so I guess they kind of own the school. We had gotten an email about drop off procedures and how the kids needed to do things themselves, so we did just that, she put away her lunchbox, grabbed her water bottle and snack, gave me a kiss (and a very quick one at that) and headed into the classroom to check out all there was to do. Just like that she was off and there was no turning back! Most of the kids in her class she knew (either from school or we are friends with and she is happy to have her buddy W back in her class) and was happy to see them. When I picked her up she was excited to tell me about her day, the first thing she told me about was what "centers" were open, it has become the first thing she tells me daily. When J got home from school she couldn't wait to tell her all about her day, I love ease dropping on them in the playroom as they chat away with each other, so cute! The rest of her first week went great and she adjusted just fine to now being in school five days, she is tried by the end of the week but I'll take that! She loves playing with the "girls" and with the doll house and Barbies, if those centers are open she is happy! She says almost daily her favorite part of the day was outside time, but is mad if she doesn't get a chance to swing. I love it when she tells me they had literacy centers and how she says the word literacy, she is looking forward to going to the school library to check out books in the near future!

Here are the pictures from the month.
