Sorry this post is a little late, it has been a rough two weeks and I haven't had much time to sit down and write a post.
Week 27 takes us back to Memorial Day weekend and what a weekend that was (and was much needed by us all)! Besides J turning six months, Pop Pop (my dad) came into town for a visit. Of course BBQ is always on his list but there were lots of exciting/new things over the weekend.
That Saturday we went to breakfast at one of our new favorites, Crossroad Diner, and then headed to Babies R Us, to buy J a tree swing and then to Central Market (sorry Nana for going to your favorite place without you) to get a steak (this is Texas so you get a Cowboy) and fixings for dinner on Sunday. We hung out at home for the afternoon, took some pics (lots of pics really) outside on J's new quilt and then headed to Hard 8 for some BBQ and where J sat in a highchair for the first time out! Pop Pop liked Hard 8, but we have all decided that if we could combine Hard 8, Sonny Bryan's and Shorty's back in Miami we would have the ultimate BBQ meca!
Sunday was race day and that is pretty much what we did all day. We started by watching the Formula One race in Monte Carlo. Then watched the Indy 500, J even drove her car, and finished the evening with the NASCAR race. In between the races Pop Pop installed J's tree swing and she took her first dip in the pool. She loves to be outside and the swing is definitely going to be a cure for crankiness! She also loves water and her pool, it just might become her bathtub this summer! We cooked our cowboy and had a great dinner.
Monday we hung out and took J for her first Mexican food outing, a staple in Texas. Although I still prefer my Cuban food and have it every time we go to Miami. Monday night we had to say goodbye to Pop Pop, we had a great visit and he got to spend quality unshared time with J, Nana was jealous! Come back and we'll go check out other BBQ joints!
What else happened this week? J tried green beans and liked them, just like her Aunt Fonz. I'd say she is now pretty much sitting up on her own, still need to watch her but she isn't as wobbly. Still no teeth, we are thinking any time now.
