Week 29

This was a much better week. Or family was back together and mommy wasn't running around like a chicken with her head cut off!

This was an exciting week and another week of firsts. J was introduced to three new foods, peas, raspberries and corn. We are tabling corn and raspberries for a little while but she likes peas...YUCK! Mommy and daddy had a night out on Saturday night to celebrate Auntie K's birthday and J had her first non family/friend babysitter. She did well (well she slept most of the time) and I was proud of myself that I didn't even text the sitter to see how they were doing. We were in the neighborhood across the street from ours and figured if she needed me she knew how to reach me. I got the urge a couple of times to check in but didn't!

Saturday we also started Parent and Me swim lessons with J at the YMCA. Lets just say that after teaching swim lessons at two well known swim schools in Miami for seven years this is a HOT MESS! I am proud of myself though for just being a parent and trying not to TAKE OVER the class. For me this class is about getting J used to the water and having fun. I am not worried about her learning to do much this year, that's what private lessons are for next summer! She is at least a year younger than any of the other children and was the only one that did not cry at some point during the lesson. I don't know if I can take eight weeks of this! I might need to split the time in the water with daddy. J is definitely a water baby, must be her Florida roots!

Monday when I went to pick J up from school I went to get her things out of her cubbie only to find her thing missing. She has officially been moved up to the new class, Infant #2. This class is ages 6 month to a year and she is getting to interact again with some of her friends from when she first started school that have moved up without her. The teachers said that we will now begin to notice a lot of advancements with her as she is with older children who do more and she will learn and pick-up things from them. Just her sitting and playing on the floor has gotten better this last week. She is scottin pretty well too. Only time until she starts crawling.

J also graduated from the infant tub on the counter to a big girl inflatable tub in the regular bathtub. This was partly because she makes such a mess splashing all of the water out, the tub helps contain the water now! She is now able to play more with her toys and really enjoy her bath instead of us getting her in/out quickly in an effort to keep ourselves as dry as possible!
