Week 36

This week (going back to July 27th) was a big milestone week for J. She is growing by leaps and bounds and learning new things every day. The changes are fast, not like when she was really little and it took her a while to grasp something new. It's also been neat to see the other kids in her daycare class and how they are growing into little people and getting to big for their britches. To see them all sitting on the floor interacting, playing and talking to each other is such a cute sight to see.

So what did J learn this week? Well for starters on Friday morning when we went into get her when she woke up she was sitting up in her crib. This was the first time she sat up by herself, well at least for us! She gave us this look like "oh, look at me, I'm such a big girl" with her still sleepy eyes.
She also progressed very rapidly this week with her crawling. The hands/knee coordination finally "clicked" with her and she is now pretty much mobile! She loves to crawl over to the wood floors and pat her hands on the floor. She isn't going to far away from us but pretty soon I'm sure she will be all over the house!

We also tried Magic Pop (and I say we as a family) this week. I've always seen them "popping" it in Central Market when we shop but had never bought it. Auntie K said that T loved it when he was little and we should get it for J. So we picked some up and gave it to her and she loves it. We are having a little trouble eating now because she wants the Pop and not her dinner! We have had to negotiate (even at her young age) for her to eat her actual dinner before she is allowed to have some pop.

We've enjoyed watching the Olympics this week and have taken a little hiatus from Baby Einsteins. We are showing J what all she has to look forward to participating in when she gets older, maybe we have a future Olympian on our hands??? We finished swim lessons for the summer and at her last lesson she was even kicking a little. We'll resume swim lessons in the spring so that we can turn her into a fish next summer!

Here are some pics from the week.
