Like all months this one came and went in a flash. As we are approaching the two year mark the days just seem to go by faster and our little girl is getting smarter and smarter and constantly amazes me at what she does or says. I really need to keep notepads in the house and my bags so that I can start to jot things down.
She is doing really well in school and is enjoying being in the big girl class. She is being challenged and her little brain is absorbing everything like a sponge. She counts to 16, although she loves to count to 8 and stop there, maybe that is her favorite number so far. She knows all of the basic colors, pink by far is her favorite, and shapes, she even knows rhombus and parallelogram, even I forgot what those are! She enjoys coloring and painting, although she doesn't like to get dirty, wonder where she gets that from!
We went to her friend from school's birthday party and she enjoyed spending some time at the Little Gym, still too much commotion for a two year old birthday party. Swimming is going well and she has moved into the next level without mommy in the water. If she would just kick her feet a little harder she'd be a little Esther Williams, mommy's expectations are a little high, I need to remember that she isn't even two yet!
J experienced her first loss, her dearly beloved elephant wubby, who had been hanging by threads for weeks, finally broke! She was clearly upset and kept telling him she was sorry. She asked daddy to fix in, it was go cute and upsetting at the same time. She still has the lamb but once he breaks she is done with pacifiers. I'm thinking this is going to be a better way for her to loose them than us being mean and taking them away. The lamb might need some help down the road but for now she can keep him, I can't break her heart anymore.
Someone now knows her full name, and not to continue bragging about my child but I am impressed! She's also continuing to learn Portuguese and enjoys singing this song about the cats with her daddy.
The month ended with a trip to Miami, the last before 2.0 comes, to celebrate daddy and Aunt Boo's birthdays. J got to dress up as a princess (Cinderella none the less), we had a BBQ for daddy's birthday, Mommy and Aunt Boo were once again shopping partners in crime and Mommy and daddy got to enjoy to J free dinners. As always our time was quick but it was nice even if it was just for a few short days.
There are not many pictures from this month, the shutterbug in me took a little break. A few of the videos are in the words again.
