The first week is flying by! We've settled into a pretty good routine with C, she is eating 3-4 ounces every 4 hours, has some good awake time and the play time is starting to become part of the routine (whether tummy time or J waving toys for her to see). C has great eye contact and really tries to study what she can, you can see her starting to try and focus on objects around the room and not just on who she is with.
Saturday morning we spent some time in our PJ's and C had her first tummy time on the boppy. Someone had to join her on the floor with her pillow and blankie too, these two are going to be double trouble in about 18 months!
Grandma and Grandpa then took J to the mall for a big sister outing and lunch. While they were gone we took C on her first outing to SAM's club to grab a few things and have a hot dog for lunch! She slept the entire time. It's true that it is so much easier the second time around, you aren't as nervous and feel like you have already mastered something and are a pro at it!
Sunday morning we were up and at them bright and early. Everyone had to be showered and dressed for C's newborn photo shoot by 9:30am. I have to say, other than having C dressed, we were ready when the photographer arrived, even though J kept telling her "we aren't ready yet". I can't wait to see the pictures, especially the ones that were done with C while mommy and daddy weren't in the room, I did get to help with one pose that is going to be so cute!
Later that afternoon Grandma and Grandpa watched the kids for a little bit while mommy and daddy ran a few errands. It was then time to come home and say goodbye to Grandpa, he was headed home, but it wouldn't put it past me to see him show up again on Friday night if he can find a ticket deal!
When daddy (he is the primary bath giver of the family) got back from the airport C got her first bath at home. The entire bath was commentated by J, I felt like we were watching Bob Costas commentate the Olympics! Just like when J was a baby C liked her bath, except for the part when it was time to come out, of course because it is cold! J did not like when C started crying and was crying herself :(
