Weeks 11 and 12

Week's 11 and 12 were sandwiched with a trip to the 305 to see the family. C was introduced to her wubbie friends before we left (she has a duck and a dog) so that she had them for the trip. She is able to hold them pretty well and sometimes get it back into her mouth by herself. This time around we are going to break her from them sooner, J's lambie that she has left is becoming a nightmare and the start of fights and temper tantrums lately, mommy is slowly tearing it apart in hopes that it breaks on its own like her elephant did.

The Monday before we left to Miami we had a girls day at home getting ready, there was a lot of organizing and packing done to get this family of four ready to go, traveling with two kids and all of their crap is a lot! I somehow managed to get us all into a rather large suitcase that ended up weighing 49.5 pounds, just shy of the 50 pound limit. This was also the day that C rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time, J was home from school and got to be here for this first.

Tuesday we were up bright and early for our flight to Miami. Our flight left at 9am which meant we had to be out of the house by 6:30am (we left at 6:37am so not so bad on our part) to allow us enough time to park the car and get all of our crap through security with two kids! Luckily the airport wasn't that busy and we could take our time and not feel rushed. Both of the girls were great on the plane and they each got their AA passport books so that the pilot can sign them everytime they travel, they no longer give wings out, they do this instead.

We had a great visit in Miami. C met those she hadn't yet and we got to spend quality time with everyone hanging out, swimming, eating, drinking and catching up (H and I managed a quick sister shopping trip and got two dresses, a skirt and four pairs of shoes in two hours, power shopping at it's finest!). Mommy and daddy had a date night to our favorite Miami restaurant for some fresh seafood. We celebrated my MIL's birthday with a dinner representing her favorite city Paris, my beef bourguignon was pretty tasty! We celebrated Easter with everyone at my sister and BIL's house with a great feast and an egg hunt for the kids. C had her first Big Cheese outing even though she slept through it! The time flew by but by the end everyone was ready to come home and get back into their routine. The goodbye's were tough since we won't be traveling home this summer and it will be October until we get back to the sunshine state. The flight home was just as good as the flight out and the girls were angels.

I had C to the doctor this last Thursday just to check on her before she started daycare since she wasn't feeling or eating well the last few days we were in Miami. The doctor said if she had anything she was on the mend and looked great to her. It was probably just allergies and change of weather that got to her. She was 12 pounds, 9 ounces at the visit.

In this two weeks time I have probably seen the biggest difference in C developmentally. All of a sudden it is like she has grown out of the baby baby stage and into the infant stage. Her hands are a source of entertainment and are always in her mouth (when J started doing this we thought it was teeth, it's funny to ready back on J's blog posts of when we thought she was getting teeth at 3-4 months old and when she actually got her first tooth at a year!). She has started making bubbles and chewing on her tongue. She is reaching for, swatting and pulling at the toys dangling from her play mat or objects you hold over her head. She is also helicoptering around the play mat and has now discovered her feet which is making diaper changing interesting! She is starting to roll over to her side like she wants to roll from her back to her belly, give the kid a few weeks and she will probably be rolling both ways. She is a happy girl with a smile that melts your heart!

Here are C's pictures from these two weeks, the rest are in the Miami album.
