22 months

C was clueless this year when it came to the holidays but liked pretending she knew what was going on and would follow J's lead.  The morning Bert showed up at the house she looked at him like "who the heck are you and why are you here". Every morning the girls would run around looking for him and then scream when they found him. She learned his name and after a few times of getting scolded for picking him up learned he wasn't a toy to play with.  She loved looking at Christmas lights and dancing around our driveway in the lights. She learned who Santa is by sight, she didn't get the you get presents from him part, and was OK with him as long as she didn't have to sit on his lap.

Grandma and Grandpa came to stay with the girls while mommy and daddy went out of town for a few days. Grandpa cooked steak, to which they both polished off an entire rib eye, Grandma gave them lots of Parmesan cheese and they had breakfast with Santa, neither of the girls had any interest and were scared. We baked cookies with Grandma for J's teachers, C's favorite part was licking the beaters! She enjoyed J's holiday program at school, I think if we would have been somewhere she could have gotten out she would have tried to go on stage as well!

Christmas was enjoyable and chaotic at the same time. Two FULL days of presents and eating (and cooking for me) was even exhausting for mommy and daddy! I actually think Christmas in Disney World might have been a better idea! Grandma/Grandpa and Uncle G/Auntie V made the drive from Miami to celebrate with us. The presents were overwhelming for me, imagine if I would have just let the kids tear into them all at once. We decided to space out gifts for the girls, starting the night of the 23rd, then they'd at least get see what they got from one person and play with it for a little while before tearing into the next mound of gifts! Poor C didn't really get to enjoy opening her gifts, it took her a while to open them, before she could tear the first part of paper away from a box, J was trying to help and narrate to C what she got. She did get excited once she saw what it actually was, she put her hands up in the air in excitement a few times, and did get mad one or twice at J. She likes her new bicycle (or stroller as she called it the first day) and we took the girls over to the park Christmas morning to ride, or in her case push hers. She is still a little short to spin the pedals (she needs to grow another inch or two) but likes being pushed around in her new chariot!

The girls slept together a lot this month. The first few nights C fell asleep no problem, then she started waiting up for J (almost an hour later she would still be awake) and it was party in her crib/room. While all J wanted to do was go to bed, C thought it was fun and games, talking and jumping around. The first few nights it was cute and then it got old! Mommy and daddy would have to go in and yell at her 2-3 times before she'd stop talking and just lay there and be quiet. One night I couldn't stop laughing as she continued to call J for over 10 minutes, I love how she syllablizes her name out!

We've finally put away all the 18 month clothes and she is officially in 2T's. As I was unpacking the tub of clothes and would take a piece out she kept saying "this is J's", how does she know, and yes she does get some new clothes of her own! I do love seeing her in some of my favorite outfits of J's, I just wish I would remember to take pics in them!

She continues to like her little dance class and participates more each class. The last class before the holidays there was only two students so mommy got to take her phone out and video tape some. She is so proud that she is starting to pull her feet up when she hangs from the bar and exclaims "I did it". She also loves to jump on the trampoline and practice counting, she is so loud you can hear her on the other side of the room! The gym part of class is clearly her favorite part and she lets her personality show (she still clings to me mostly in the dance part).

Just like her sister did at this age, she knows her full name. The girls went to Miami with Grandma and Grandpa and got to spend a few days with them without mom and dad (we drove down a few days later to spend New Years). Grandma took this time to work with C on her Portuguese, second kid gets a later start! She has learned most of the colors and can say them, is doing well with her counting, and I is also understanding and comprehending more what is being said to her.

We said goodbye to 2015 while in Miami which means she is that much closer to turning two! We have a month until her birthday but the tantrums are already full blown, boy does she have a temper!

Here are the pictures from the month.
