23 months

We are just shy of being two but boy is she definitely a two year old with her tantrums! We are trying to work on learning patience but it isn't clicking, it just makes her (and mommy) more frustrated! I think it is also time to start teaching time-out, oh this kid needs and is ready for school (she has to wait until August).

We started the month out in Miami, she got to enjoy some pizza at the Big Cheese, Grandpas BBQ and spent time working on her new computer and her emails. It's amazing at what they pick up from what you do, I love how she lays back to do her work. We visited with baby B (and his parents who have become chopped liver since he was born), she loves playing with him and all of his toys. I'm sure he will always be her "chunkie cheekies".

We started back in dance class (after missing two weeks for the holidays and then a week while we were in Miami) and someone is back to being shy and having mommyitis. She likes the tumbling/gym part but wants nothing to do with the dance part again. This is her last semester as the next one will focus on the recital that she is not ready for yet.

C had her first visit with the dentist. She sat in my lap whining and crying the entire time J was in the chair getting her teeth check out, she would also tell me "No mommy, I not do my teeth". When it was her turn she screamed bloody murder for the 90 seconds it took to look in her mouth. She has some spacing issues (which we can see) and her last four teeth are coming in to fill in her jack-o-lantern gaps! When she was done she got to pick a prize from the treasure box and got a new tooth brush. She finally gave in and gave the dentist and hygienist a high-five when we left but still had tears in her eyes.

We had a fun trip to a local farm to pick strawberries with some friends. C was able to pull a few of them off the stems but mommy filled most of her container. She was better at smashing them than actually picking them! She wasn't a fan of the strawberry shortcake we got, I was surprised since this kid has a sweet tooth, oh well, mommy just had to eat it! We also took a trip to the aquarium, it wasn't very crowded which was nice and we had the entire one section to ourselves for almost an hour. The kids got to run around looking at everything and kept the staff entertained. C loves watching the seahorses and turtles and screams at them in excitement.

As I say every month her vocabulary is expanding. She keeps up with her sister in the talking department and if she has something to say and no one is listening to her she makes it know (with one of her fits!). She has is working at putting on her own shoes and sometimes is successful, when she is not we get a melt down and screaming for someone to help her. She asks if it is the right foot before she tries to put them on and if you tell her other foot switches feet.

She knows all of her colors and if you ask her what color something is she will say the color followed by whatever the object is, it's really cute. We are working on her shapes, she knows triangle, oval, heart and star. J has also been taking interest in helping me to teach her (she teaches C every day and doesn't realize it) and has been working on her color/shape puzzles with her. We are also starting (very early stages) on working on real puzzles you put together, not sure how this is going to go, her frustration sets in when she can't get a piece together (are you counting how many times her temper has been mentioned in this post, she is much worse than her sister was at this age!).

She loves to sing, and even though football season is over for the Dolphins we are still singing about them...well C usually sings about the Mullets, and if you call them the Dolphins she gets mad and say no Mullets!

The month ended with the start of our Disney vacation and getting ready for someone to turn two! More on Disney in it's own post.

Here are the pictures from the month.
