32 months

And so the wubbie saga continued and everyone just became more irritable and cranky with each other. Daddy had to go out of town for work but before he left we did one final conversion of her crib to a toddler bed and left it at that, she had two beds to choose from in her room and wanted neither of them! I wasn't 100% ready to be cribless but if it meant sleeping again I was game.  Daddy left and things got no better as we approached the 10 day mark, naps were non existent and going to bed was a fight! Maybe she just needed the textile feeling of her wubbie so I caved and pulled one out of the cabinet. I put a hole through it and gave it to her in the midst of one of her meltdowns, her eyes lit up when she saw it but as soon as she took a "puff" she said "it's broken", I'm surprised she didn't chuck it across the room! I don't remember what happened next but at some point we caved and she got one of her wubbies back, we are weak, but we got our sleep and nap time back and she is sleeping in the toddler bed. Maybe we are making her grow up too fast? We'll revisit this subject again closer to her third birthday when hopefully she is ready to go cold turkey!  The behavior chart is working pretty well (since the wubbie is back) and someone is mostly staying on green, she's got it down on what each color means!

School is going great and C went on two field trips this month. One with J's class to the dairy farm where she got to feed a baby cow and another with her class to the pumpkin patch where she was scared of feeding a baby goat (she eventually fed him), this kid! Play-doh is still what she loves to do in school but painting is a close second. I have started to build her little portfolio of her art work she brings home, it is hard to not keep it all, I'm trying to be good and just pick my favorites and give what I don't want away to the grandparents. Her teacher tells me she is all shy and quiet in class and at times has to look to see what she is doing, if only that was the case at home!

C continues to enjoy learning her letters at school and at home, of course her favorite letter is C. She was walking around with the flash cards in her purse for a week and would pull them out when we were in the car wanting me to do them with her! One day when J was at school she pulled out the Scrabble game to play, at first I thought what is she doing but then I saw what she was doing and realized this is a great way to get her to learn her letters. We spent over an hour playing and came to realize that she knew 11 letters (about 7 more than I thought she knew!), R, D, A, C, O, E, J, B, W, K, and P.  We have been practicing for a little while now how to spell her name, sometimes she is into it and other times she gets frustrated and tells me she doesn't want to spell. One day I went to start spelling her name for her and she finished it, another smarty pants who when you think isn't listening really is! Of course we had to do a second take to get it on film, now she loves to spell her name.

Daddy and the girls took their first father/daughter trip to Miami, mommy had two days of peace and quiet all to herself! Saturday the girls got to hang out with G&G while daddy went to see the Canes play. They went to the zoo and since they didn't have hats or a stroller they had to buy hats and they rented a bike to get around, mommy didn't send them prepared! The girls had a great time and and enjoyed seeing the animals, I miss having a zoo close to us. After the zoo they went to the Ale House for lunch and then had some BBQ (of course) for dinner! Sunday morning they were on the road bright and early so they could make it home to see their cousins.

We had a great visit with Aunt Fonz and the twins (but we missed G-man and Uncle Dew). The kids enjoyed having slumber parties, hanging out in PJ's, destroying the playroom, making cards and celebrating daddy's birthday with pizza, cake and chaos! The highlight of their trip was a LONG day trip to Disney! The kids had a blast making memories at the Mouse's House, I loved watching their little faces light up (or have a minor melt down). C is back on the Frozen kick again and reminds us all that they moved to Epcot. She has to have her Elsa hair, that touches her neck, I wish I could predict what her teenage years would be like if she is this much of a diva at two and a half!

To get ready for Fall and Halloween we went to a local Fall Festival one Sunday morning when we were looking for something to do. We walked around, looked at the vendors, fed the goats (which I was surprised she did) and picked out our pumpkins, we got two medium size ones this year so that each of the girls could pick out a design (C chose a silly face). C went on her first pony ride, at first she wasn't sure about it but then ended up liking it. The day before Halloween we carved our pumpkins, C wanted nothing to do with touching the goop, she spooned out a few seeds and then just watched.

Halloween was a Monday and our day started with running Anna and Elsa to school in their sled (AKA my jogging stroller). They had their little parade at school and trick-or-treated around the playground, C was a little shy with all the commotion and once she found her sister stuck to her like glue. Her class had a little party after lunch where they decorated and ate cookies! Later that night we went to McDonald's for dinner with some friends and then came home and trick-or-treated in the neighborhood until the mosquito's came out in full force. C's favorite house was the one with the blow-up Mickey, go figure!

The weather has been nice so we have been enjoying some outdoor time, flying kites, playing at the park and running. Someone is getting braver on the playground and wants to try some of the bigger kid equipment, J is a good big sister and helps C when mommy gets tired.

Potty training is pretty much over. C is now letting us know (without constant reminders) when she needs to go and is running by herself to the bathroom. I put a small stool to help her get on the toilet and she tries to do everything by herself (even use wads and wads of toilet paper). The funniest is when she does #2 and dictates the size of her poop, why is poop so funny? I still have her in pull-ups at night even though she is dry 99.9% of the time.

Here are the pictures from the month.
