C's been three for two weeks, it seems like her birthday was months ago and not just weeks ago. She's been acting three for months now, maybe that's why. The day before her birthday she helped to make "Ariel" cupcakes (we didn't have enough so we had to use Rapunzel toppers too) for her littler party at school. She also helped me get little goodie bags together for her friends. Her favorite part about helping me was licking icing off not one but two beaters! I don't know what I was thinking when I let her have all that sugar!
Her big present from us was a trip to Disney with her cousins but I still had to get her a few small things to open. When she saw her cousins got Mickey and the Roadster Racers cars for their birthday of course she wanted them too. Mommy went on a little mission to find them for her and it was a sign when I walked into Target and there was one of each left on the shelf (Walmart was out). J got to pick out her own gift for C this year, she chose an Ariel t-shirt and an Elena book since quote "those are her favorite princesses". What a thoughtful sister!
She had a little party at school with her five class mates, I think one or two of them joined in the singing, but they all went to town on the cupcakes! She chose what color and what princess each friend got (thankfully there was no fighting). After school she took a rest and then got to open some more presents. She wore her new Elsa birthday dress to dinner and kept twirling around in the house in it making the skirt spin! Daddy got home and after going back and forth where she wanted to go to dinner she finally chose Cheesecake Factory.
We had somewhat of a nice dinner, her sister ruined the mood some, but C didn't let that ruin her night, she kept telling us to "take J outside". She had chicken, broccoli and pasta. When dinner was over they brought her ice cream and we sang happy birthday to her. When we got home we Facetimed with her cousins and she opened the rest of her presents, she was very excited for the Elena purse and dress! Saturday we celebrated with Nana and Pop Pop, lunch outside in Cortez followed by birthday cupcakes and her "3" candle. And yes she had to wear the Elsa dress again!
This was a big year for C, she started school, was completely potty trained by two and a half, moved to a big girl bed and unwillingly gave up her wubbie! The
terrible two's might be over but I'm thinking being three will be more
challenging! She is all sass and has a temper just like her Pop Pop! Here is to hoping the Dr. Jekel and Mr. Hyde episodes cease sooner rather than later. To this next year My Little Mermaid.
