70 months

The months are flying by and we will soon have a six year old! She will no longer be able to use one hand to show how old she is, she realized this and told me she would have to start using two hands for her age. Um, how did six years fly by so quickly.

The girls have enjoyed watching the Canes games with our friends and cheering part of the game, they mostly play but love to get in their "game day" gear. We were cleaning out boxes in the garage and I found my stuffed Sebastian, someone quickly added him to her overflowing pile of stuffies! Next year we will take her to a game, not sure if she will enjoy the loudness of it, I'll have to remember her ear muffins!

School is just amazing and J can't wait to leave the house every morning, by 7:45 she is ready to rock and roll, school doesn't start until 8:25 but she likes to get there early and sit in the hallway and read books with her friends. I love it when I drop her off (we've been car riding a little more in the AM's as its easier) and she sees someone she knows to walk in with, a few mornings she has bounced into school giggling with a friend, makes my heart melt when I see her so happy and loving school! She's had a few more purple days on the color chart and has this little smirk when I pick her up, I know before she tells me that she has had a great day (otherwise she is green or blue which are both good behavior too). They had donuts with dad one morning before school and I went and finally had lunch with her in the cafeteria (and brought her McDonalds to eat and got to see how crazy, loud and chaotic the cafeteria really is, I'm surprised she hasn't complained about the noise). The day I had lunch with her she was like another kid, shy, timid, clingy and not wanting to go back to her class, not the energetic, hyper, social kid I drop off in the morning. Grandma and Grandpa were here for Daddy's birthday and got to have lunch with her as well, they ate on the new outdoor patio since the weather was beautiful! She passed her red sight word list with flying colors and we are now working on the purple list. She is starting to recognize words when I am reading books and trying to say them along with me. We had her first teacher conference and she got her first report card. She got all E's where it mattered (mommy was disappointed I only got an S for the comes prepared to class category) and her teacher had nothing but wonderful things to say about her, you could kind tell she might be the favorite. She racked up all three awards at the awards ceremony, we are so proud of this girl and she is soaring!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for Daddy's birthday and brought J a HUGE surprise, a new Lego set which her and Grandma spent 4 afternoons putting together, Grandma mainly oversaw and helped sort pieces (all 700 of them), J put 98% of it together by herself! We celebrated Daddy's birthday (his farty birthday as J told everyone the day we went to the mall to buy his gift) at Kona Grill and the girls helped him to blow out his 4-0 candle. He got a new watch, cards made by the girls and a bag of Sour Patch Kids that C picked out for him! J kept a good secret on what we bought him, C on the other hand might of let it slip.

J got to go back and visit Ms. Dianne on a day they got out of school early. At first she was shy and then she warmed up and talked all about Kindergarten and what she has been doing. She looked so big compared to the kids that are now in VPK, she wasn't that small a year ago was she? We've enjoyed rainbows, beautiful sunsets and sunrises this month. Someone is becoming a little better with the camera and letting me take her picture more (but only if she poses) but isn't a fan of having to watch her sister play soccer and sulks while we are there (pouting in the grass).

We've been getting ready for Halloween, someone loves the new light from Nana (we had to keep it inside) and is super excited to wear her new costume,  have a party at school and go trick-or-treating! And she made me buy the biggest pumpkin they had at Publix!

Here are the pictures from the month.
