School is great and they had fun this month getting ready for the holidays and their program. The kids put on a great performance and I was totally surprised at C. While she is usually a bit shy and timid when there are a lot of people around she hopped up on the stage and sang her little heart out, you can hear her in most of the videos. Her class recited the Our Father, sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer (she was the only one who didn't get her nose painted) and had fun with 10 Little Santa's Jumping on the Bed. She was excited to give me her bag of Christmas goodies she made, it was a bag full of ornaments that filled in the bottom of our new tree. She is also starting to want to read and is working on sight words at the table with J, too big for her britches!
C loved J's party and that she got to invite her little best friend. The two of them are like peas in a pod and sometimes we forget they are three when they are together! We've been spending a lot of time with her and her mommy on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they aren't in school. The girls get along so well and I love seeing the two of them play together and not fight, we are sure going to miss them when they move this summer. We've made Chick-fil-A a weekly date for lunch and the girls love to have their ice cream. When we aren't with them and other friends on non-school days we are running errands, cleaning house or playing the cupcake game (over and over and over again!).
We enjoyed the Christmas season but keeping herself on the good list this year was a task, our elf needed a break halfway through his stay for the tantrums this kid kept having, mostly because J found him first in the morning and she didn't get to spot him! She's lucky she didn't get coal for Christmas and got gifts! She loved getting to go to J's school for literacy night and enjoyed hearing stories read by the teachers and making crafts but wanted nothing to do with the Santa Gator (the school mascot). Thanks goodness she was better when we saw Santa at my moms group party, she had no issues this year and talked his ear off, we had to pry the girls away and let other families have a turn, otherwise they would have talked to him all day about their lists and our elf! We went to an ugly sweater party in our new neighborhood and the girls were excited to stay up past their bed time and play with some new friends. The girls are my biggest cheerleaders when I run and they watched me run the Jingle Race on Mainstreet the Friday night before Christmas. Afterwards we had dinner at the Tratoria and they enjoyed the Florida snow (bubbles) and sledding down the big slide!
We had a pretty quiet two days of Christmas at home. The girls were
super excited for the send off Bert gave this year, he strung lights in
the foyer and couldn't wait to show me when I got home from my run that
morning. We tracked Santa on the computer throughout the day seeing
where he was delivering presents. We opened some presents later that
night and had lasagna for dinner (both of the girls gobbled it up). They
sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn, put on their jammies, left out
milk and cookies for Santa and then hit the sack with anticipation of
what the next day would bring.
Christmas morning the girls were up bright and early and when C realized she got her new bike she was jumping in excitement on the couch! I don't think I have seen her that excited about a gift, all she had been talking about was getting a big girl bike! She rode it a bit in the house before she took it outside for a spin, after lunch she spent over an hour outside with Grandpa riding her bike while Nana and I went to visit Pop Pop in the hospital. The day was pretty quiet and somber and by 8pm everyone was stuffed, exhausted and ready for bed!
Later that week we went to Legoland with all the cousins and the kids had a great time, it was no Disney but lots of fun was had! We had Christmas round two on New Years Day and this time the house look liked it puked toys! All of the kids were excited for what they got and were upset we didn't let them open everything up to play with, try keeping toys for six kids who belong to three houses separate, they each got to open one new thing and had to wait until everyone left (or got back to their own house) to open the rest of the loot! Both of the girls got Hatchimals and what an experience that was hatching their eggs (it was more of a competition for the mommies to see which egg we could get to hatch first!). It was great to have all of the kids together, even if it was a short time. The kids all found out they will have a new girl cousin joining their pack in May! I know three little girls who are going to want to help Aunt Boo weather she wants help or not and are gonna be all up in her business!
I can't believe she is getting so close to being four, she has really gown up these last few months and is physically growing like a weed, she is almost in all 5T clothes! Our baby is long gone, just please don't lose a tooth yet!
Here are the pictures from the month.
