Four is Fabulous (well should be)

C's been four for over two weeks and we now have a fournado on our hands, her temper didn't magically disappear like I had hoped! This last year has just flown by and I have seen such growth in her, she is definitely not a "little" girl anymore and wants to be a big kid. Her demeanor, vocabulary and mannerisms (except when she's throwing a tantrum) don't fit her size (even though she is almost in all 5T's) and she appears older than she is. She has grown up a little too quickly, J was still a little girl at this age, I guess having an older sibling and wanting to keep up with her does this to you!

We can't have a birthday without a proper celebration at the happiest place on earth in this house. And that is how us along with Aunt Boo, Uncle Mikey, B, Grandma and Grandpa celebrated this one turning four. We were up bright and early and in the parking lot before 8am, they still get excited at the sights of the Disney World gate and scream "we're here" every time. C put her Rapunzel dress (and tiara) on as soon as she got freed from her car seat, and she wore the dress the entire day! The security lines were short and we even got to monorail over to the park which made them happy, at the sight of the castle they screamed again, lots of happy screams when you are at Disney! We ate muffins, got her birthday button (which she would not wear because she didn't want to put a hole in her dress), took pictures on Main Street and still had plenty of time before the Castle Welcome Show. C got all excited when the music started and the characters came out, she was so happy to see Elena and screamed for her. They said the magic words, the fireworks went off and the park was open for what was to be a magical fun filled family day!

The morning started off with one of J's favorite rides, Buzz Lightyear. C wasn't overly thrilled but since there was no line she agreed, turns out she got more points than J so she was happy! While daddy and J rode a second time, C and I headed over to Fairy Tale hall to get in line to see Cinderella and Elena while we waited for her cousin to arrive. As always she was pretty smitten with the princesses and of course twirled with them (J and daddy got back but J wanted nothing to do with meeting them this time).

While we were waiting in line for the carousel their cousin "finally" showed up (they love to use finally) and got to ride with us. We rode Pooh and the tea cups and B has his first encounter with C's favorite princess, Ariel which is his new favorite movie he has been watching. We all had a delicious snack from a place we have somehow missed the last couple of years. The kids (mostly J) gobbled down their Cheshire Cat Tails (chocolate croissants) and wouldn't share! We took the girls to meet Tianna and Rapunzel while B went and rode Buzz. C loved showing Rapunzel her matching dress, although she is quick to notice the differences between the dresses and how hers isn't exactly the same as theirs. On our way to Small World C noticed the Rapunzel had she had been eying our last two trips. How could we say no to it on her birthday, she used her Mickey money from Uncle Gus and Auntie Varee and bought herself the hat, which she managed to wear most of the day and completed her outfit.

Grandma and Grandpa got to the park just in time to see the kids moving and shaking on Main Street to the Dance Party and to join us for a hot dog lunch in front of the castle. After lunch we rode Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid ride and then headed over to get a spot for the parade. C and I went to see the Country Bears while everyone else relaxed and ate Dole Whips! To me the parade was the most memorable and princess part of the day. When the parade started C stood at the rope with her birthday button in her hand waving it and screaming out as the floats went by. For a little one she got some attention and had us all cracking up! Cinderella saw her, blew her a kiss and told her happy birthday. Rapunzel noticed her in her dress and gave her a great big wave. Flynn Rider as he was riding the swinging anchors shouted happy birthday to her as he went by. Prince Phillip walked right up to her, took her hand, bowed and wished her a happy birthday. She was so excited and squealing in delight. People around us were cracking up at what she was doing and the attention she was getting! It really was a sight to see!

After all of that excitement we convinced them to ride Pirates for the adults, the girls weren't to happy at first but they survived, I kind of told them a fib that maybe they would have Coco from the new Disney movie in the ride, which of course they didn't and were mad at me for...oops! We took a little break and watched and sang along with the Tikki Birds, that is always a favorite of the kids and a leg break from the adults. Then we headed to Main Street to meet some more characters and wait for our dinner reservation at Tony's. B got to meet Tinkerbell for the first time, he was a little timid and shy and mostly held Julia's hand, Tink is so great with the kids and really personalizes each visit. We also got to see talking Mickey and he sang happy birthday to C, she loves her Mickey and makes it known she has to have a picture by herself with him!

We had a nice dinner at Tony's, of course the kids had their famous spaghetti and meatballs, after a full day in the park they were hungry and tired. Mommy snuck over to the Main Street Confectionery and picked up some cupcakes so we could sing to C, they weren't that big of a hit, should have stuck with ice cream and maybe it would have kept the melting down from happening! If you listen closely to the video she wishes out loud for a purple unicorn! We were going to stay for the fireworks and castle show but crankiness hit and the tempers started. We said our goodbyes and called it a night after a fun day, they were happy we got to take the monorail back and passed out pretty quickly after their showers.

This was another great year for C, well most of the time when she wasn't throwing a tantrum! She experienced her first hurricane, we moved into our new house, she's been without her sister this year at school, and she is starting to read! There are days I wish for time to speed up and then I look back and in the blink of an eye the year is gone. Maybe this next year can go by just a little but slower. I'm not ready for her to be five anytime soon (we just might need to get some Pixie Dust from Tink on our next trip)! To this next year My Little Mermaid.

Here are the pictures from the day.
