74 months

Someone pretty quickly got a second wiggly tooth but this one took a little longer than the first to loose. It was hanging on by threads for a few days, watching her try to eat was rather comical and she wanted everything cut up into tiny pieces. One night I was going out with friends and I had a hunch that might be it, so I snapped a picture before I left to remember the one tooth smile, low and behold, while we were sitting drinking a glass of wine a text from daddy came through with her tooth gone! She let him pull it out, one pop and it was gone (along with a little blood that came but she didn't freak out) and all she was left with was another hole in her mouth. The next morning she was excited to check to see what the tooth fairy left her (this time she took her tooth) and to show me her mouth. Eating breakfast was much easier and the tiniest of a white spot was already starting to pop out. By months end both teeth were growing in, maybe she'll have a full mouth of teeth before she loses the next one.

We celebrated C's birthday at Disney (on her actual birthday) with Aunt Boo, Uncle Mikey, cousin B and G&G, it was a party to be had! J was patient and went with the flow and her only request was to ride Buzz Lightyear which she got to ride twice with daddy! She wasn't into meeting the princesses and we had to convince her to sit with Ariel so we could get a cousins picture. Uncle Mikey took us to try a new treat the Cheshire Cat Tail (chocolate croissants), which J inhaled and wouldn't share! We've somehow missed this one and I'm kinda glad we have as now that we know it will be a must on our list, well at least J's. She took charge being the big cousin this day and wanted to hold hand and help B with pretty much everything, and it was cute seeing her being protective of him when he met Ariel and Tink for the first time. She wishes for a baby brother but she ain't getting one!

The girls started tumbling class at the YMCA this month. They needed some sort of extra curricular activity and pretty much said no to everything we mentioned. We finally decided just to sign them up and try it out. While I wasn't at the first class I know J was very timid and shy, she had never done anything like this and couldn't even do a somersault by herself. But she gave it her all and tried the different things out, hopefully this will help with her coordination! After a couple of weeks she has gained a little confidence, she is the youngest one in class, and is doing better and almost at a forward somersault by herself. I'm proud of her in that she doesn't give up, tries everything and never says she can't do something, most kids probably would have looked at those around them and what they could do, compared themselves and probably cried.

J was very aware that Pop Pop was sick the last few years and was always concerned in such an angelic way about him. She would say things like "we can get take out so he doesn't have to be alone" and it would just melt your heart. Unfortunately sadness hit the family this month and we had to explain death to a six year old. Telling her was probably the hardest part of that day (and continuing to answer her questions the next few days) and watching her little face realm in sadness while trying to process it brought me to tears. We would have thought the hardest part would have been over after we told her but it only began, her little wheels started turning and the many questions started. Such detailed questions that someone twice her age should have been asking, not a little innocent six year old. We were caught off guard with most of them and had to make answers up pretty quickly, creative ways to tell the truth and make it understandable to a six year old, why couldn't she just accept "Pop Pop went to heaven" and leave it at that, this kid wanted the details and would ask the same question multiple times to make sure the answer was the same every time. The days after Pop Pop went to heaven we spent time with family, we had lunch at one of his favorite restaurants on the water, went strawberry picking and had ice cream/milk shakes in his honor, the girls got to play with cousin B and we snuggled at night with his blanket I had made him a few years ago for Christmas. As the weeks went on the questions died down but his memory has stayed alive, if not every day, than every other day J makes some mention of Pop Pop, whether it is something she has seen on TV, something we eat or just seeing the stars in the sky, this kid has the heart of gold and it breaks my heart that she had to go through this at such a young age to where she will remember it for the rest of her life.

School is still great, she got anther perfect progress report and it's hard to believe we are that much closer to the year being over. J's teacher started something new this month, "lunch bunch" in the classroom for those that are the color purple by lunch. Of course J made it the first day and she has had lunch bunch the most out of everyone. I know she really doesn't like the cafeteria and I'm sure is trying her hardest to stay out of there! J and Daddy went to their first Father Daughter Dance the Saturday after Valentines Day. The Thursday before the dance I pulled her out of school early so we could go dress shopping and to lunch with Nana and Aunt Boo. After trying on about 10+ dresses, we bought two, she modeled them both for daddy and let him pick, the one he picked was her favorite too. She told me that she needed flowers and after finding out how much Publix wanted for the pair I decided to DIY them! Maybe I should have paid Publix because it took a little searching to find flowers that weren't dead after Valentines Day. An hour or so in the kitchen and viola my corsage and boutonniere turned out pretty well, she was happy and that is all that mattered. After saying she wasn't going to dance she danced her little heart out with her friends, poor daddy got ditched pretty quickly! Daddy texted me a few pictures while they were there and I about balled me eyes out with the selfie video he sent of the two of them dancing (one of the only times she danced with him). They had a nice time and they should have won best dressed couple!

The girls had a day off from school and we checked out the playground at the Ringling Museum with some friends. Not sure why it has taken us this long to get there but it was nice and we all had a nice time, the weather was beautiful so that (along with the breeze from the bay) helped. The girls enjoyed playing on the playground, playing hide-and-seek in the big banyan trees, smelling the roses in the rose garden and wandering the grounds. They were having so much fun they didn't want to leave, so we bribed them with McDonalds ice cream and took our party there.

J must be going through a major growth spurt and is eating us out of house and home, you'd think she is a boy and most of the time eats more than mommy and daddy at a meal! Our pool is FINALLY done and about all we can do is stick our feet in since it is cold and we don't have a heater. Summer can't come soon enough for these mermaid (and their mommy). At least we can enjoy the patio, watch beautiful sunsets, grill out and whats nice is it is huge and there is plenty of space for them to play. I just wish the pollen would go away so we can open the doors!

Here are the pictures from the month.
