55 months

Football season started back up and we kicked off the Canes season unfortunately with a loss but that didn't stop the girls from chanting "It's all about the U", on repeat all week! We watched the second game of the season with our Canes friends, thank goodness for playrooms with its own TV (well if the stream isn't ahead). When they started screaming touchdown and running all over the house like crazy maniacs, we thought they were getting us, then we saw the actual touchdown and realized they weren't, their stream was ahead and for the next four quarters we heard everything before we actually saw it, they thought they were so funny and had the time of their lives spoiling it for us! Pool season came to an end in our pool Labor Day weekend but G&G's pool is warm and our mermaid has continued her swim season in their pool when we have BBQed on the weekends. Nothing like fall in Florida swimming and eating BBQ in the pool.

After convincing the girls to play (and daddy to coach) soccer started this month. C was excited to get her first pair of cleats, pink of course and her first real uniform (she isn't sure about the tall socks or shin guards). Practice started two weeks before the games (during the week at night, something new for our schedule) and since she comes home a sweaty stinky mess she must be doing something out there besides picking grass. Her little boyfriend is on the team and chasing him around the field is probably what is keeping her motivated to play! Nana happened to be here for C's first game and we went and got donuts (at our new yummy donut shop) before the game. I hadn't been to the first two practices so I wasn't sure what to expect, other than a lot of laughs and that is what we got. C ran around the field looking like she had no clue what was going on and when she finally got the ball she went the wrong way (but her team did win their first game)! Hopefully some more practice will help her out, or just maybe our mermaid is meant to stay in the pool with her sea legs.

Nana came to visit this month and boy were the girls counting down the days until she was here. They were so excited to go and pick her up at the airport, but it took all of their patience having to wait for her plane to land and then for her to deplane. C kept saying "this is taking forever" on repeat until she spotted her and ran and gave her a big hug. Nana was here for a week but the time just flew by, she had her first BBQ at G&G's house (the pool/grill was completed after she left in August), it was yummy as always! The girls had school and she helped us take/pickup C, they had soccer practice, we watched the Canes play twice, C and Nana had a Menchies date, we took family pictures, went to dinner a few times and she got to see C's first game before it was time for her to head back to her new home.  It was a fun filled week with lots going on, I see her visits playing out like this with not much time to relax!

School is going great and C really likes her teacher. She can't wait to tell me as soon as we get in the car what centers were open that day, if I ask her another question before she tells me, she tells me to to wait and proceeds to fill me in on the centers first. She usually plays with the girls but there are days she surprises me with a new center, she had to play with W that day, maybe one day he will join her in the doll house or Barbies. They have started going to the school library to get books and have a reading log for the month, once it is all colored in they get treasure box which is a huge hit. They are working on math and letters/numbers. She knows all of her upper and lowercase numbers and can write them all out. Her teacher is helping to work on holding her pencil/crayon the right way and not fisting it like she has been, she is doing much better and is more aware now when she isn't holding it right (our little lefty) and corrects herself. She does well at copying words and even tries to spell some of them phonetically herself. The little kids had a day off from school when the teachers went to a conference and I took C and W (aka her boyfriend) bowling for the day. They lasted three games (with a lunch break in the middle) and each got a strike (or two). The lady at the desk was cracking up at them most of the time we were there, they were jumping, singing and dancing as they bowled, C and her hip pose while she waits for the ball to go down the lane gets me every time.

Someone finally had a good visit at the dentist! She let them take big girl x-rays, clean her teeth with the electric toothbrush, use the sucker and water hose and even did the fluoride treatment. She is doing great with the exception of a small spot on her one back tooth, which means she needs to not fight us at home when it is time to brush her teeth and actually brush them well (and let us once a day). Brushing her teeth is usually a flight, maybe now that the dentist told her she needs to do better she will cooperate! We moved bikes around and she got promoted to a bigger bike, but before we gave away her little one we tried again to get her to ride on two wheels, if she just had the confidence she could do it (she does and then stops when she realizes what is happening). She says she needs time on J's scooter so that she can practice balancing, I see the scooter becoming a fight! I know I have posted before about her sleep walking and sleep talking, while we haven't caught her sleep walking in a while we catch her talking all the time, this one particular night daddy caught her and pulled out his phone, we got her saying "one" in Portuguese.

Here are the pictures from the month.
