The excitement of soccer quickly wore off, someone was bored after 20 minutes at practice and was happy at games when it was her turn to sit out. She runs around the field like a wild banshee during the games, not knowing what is going on or where the ball is. The couple times she did touch the ball she went the wrong way, oops! The bright side is that her team is still undefeated and she thinks that is cool! Soccer is not her sport, maybe she is meant for water sports?
We spent a long weekend in Miami and got to celebrate Aunt Boo's
birthday with her. C was most excited to see baby A and be Aunt Boo's special helper for the weekend. After being there an hour we dubbed her the baby whisper and she spent all weekend trying to keep A happy and entertained. J and B exclude her when playing, which of course hurts C's feeling and causes meltdowns, but once she realized she has A to play with the meltdowns subsided and she felt "needed". I think Aunt Boo would let her move in with them if C would! It was a great weekend of slumber parties,
playing together and swimming in the pool (and the only time C and B probably got along was when they were napping together). The girls had their first visit to Shorty's BBQ, one of
Pop Pops favorite places in Miami, C was a fan of the crinkle fries! We took a trip to Zoo Miami and
had fun biking around the zoo to see the animals, besides your legs
being tired from pedaling, it's the way to see the zoo and in a record
amount of time! The kids got to play on the playground, we had some
lunch, they didn't want to feed the giraffes and they all got a wax
figure (the smell brought back so many memories) to end the day. It was a
fun (but hot) day, when we were leaving they ran through the misters on
the Zoo Miami sign, they looked as if they could have been running out
of the Hurricanes smoke tunnel!
We got home and it was daddy's turn for a celebration, dinner on his actual birthday night at Wolveshead and
then later that weekend with a BBQ at G&G's house, the weathers been
hot so we've been over swimming in their heated pool, my mermaid is in heaven. The girls were
excited to get him a huge balloon and for once C kept a secret on his gift, a pickleball set (probably because she didn't know what it was). For C it's all about whose birthday is next and trying to keep track, at least she doesn't always say that it is hers!
The girls modeled for my friend who is launching her photography business. A mom of two boys enjoyed the twenty minutes she had with these two, silly faces, giggles, pure joy and pouty faces make for some cute pictures, she is especially fond of eclair, what she calls Miss C, she says one day she is going to buy her an eclair so she knows why she calls her that.
School is great and playground time is still C's favorite subject. The swings have taken a back seat and the family of beanie babies they have on the playground is now usually what I hear about when I pick her up and not which centers were open that day. The kitty beanie baby is everyone's favorite and who had it that day is the first thing she tells me. They must have their own little rotation with kitty as it hasn't become an issue to fight over yet, but I'm sure it will be! The two VPK classes had their fall field trip to the Dairy Farm, two years ago when I went with J I told daddy his turn would be with C, conveniently he was out of town, and I had swim lessons so C rode along with W (her little boyfriend) and his mom. She wasn't even phased that I didn't go, I was a little upset I missed it but know she had fun (she got to get dirty and messy something I wouldn't have allowed!). She did tell me it was stinky and smelly (her words) and that she liked seeing the goats. We are definitely not country people and when I asked if she wanted to go again she said NO! They had their cute little Halloween parade at school, at first C didn't want to dress up but at the last minute she decided to be Rapunzel so that she could wear her hat. Her pencil grip is much better and she corrects herself when she realizes she isn't holding it right. She is really wanting to read and learn to spell, mommys been slacking in that department, or maybe I'm just not ready for her britches to be that big and for her to grow up.
Not sure what got into me this year about Halloween, I don't typically like it but for some reason I really got into it this year. C decided back in August that she wanted to be Aurora for Halloween, we had the costume so of course I said yes to not having to spend money. J wanted to be a rainbow fairy only the costume she wanted was full of glitter, no-no in our house! I kept showing her other costumes, to which she said no, and then one night I had an epiphany while trying to fall asleep, we could all be from Sleeping Beauty which is her favorite princess. Somehow I convinced her that I could turn her into a rainbow fairy using the three fairies from the story, so I got my sew on and went to work, I had a vision of her costume and I came pretty close, she was happy and that is what mattered! We had a family Halloween party in our community, I was going to win the costume contest only to find out they decided against it! We all had fun and the kids played (and mom had to make some costume repairs) until their little hearts were content and their bellies full of sugar! We really live in a great family oriented community and it is nice not to have to leave the neighborhood at times! Halloween night we had pizza in the driveway with the neighbors and the girls did a little trick-or-treating before it got dark and the mosquitoes swarmed them. We had a fun couple of days, maybe I will get into it again next year.
The girls got to spend a long weekend with Grandma and Grandpa while mommy and daddy went to Disney for our race. Of course they had to BBQ and swim in the pool, they went out to dinner at Kona Grill and walked the mall, I'm sure they bribed them for something, they can't say no to these little faces! C didn't want to go play putt-putt with Grandpa and J so her and Grandma did some shopping before picking them back up and going to McDonalds for lunch!
Here are the pictures from the month.
