The girls are loving having G&G here, spending the night at their house and enjoying the pool and BBQ area! They are glad Grandpa got a heater so they can swim year round! They love going over to play with their Barbies and babies, Grandma lets them take them to the pool so what is not to love! Their new place to eat is in the lounge chairs by the pool, the glimpses we get of them are totally what it is going to be in the future, our bathing beauties by the pool! These girls can put down some sausage and steakie, and of course there isn't a BBQ with out tomatoes for J and lots and lots of bread. They have been working on the 500+ piece puzzles J got for her birthday, when they are all done they are going to frame them to put in their room, J really enjoys the puzzles and has the patience to sit there for a while working on them. I think their favorite thing to do is to go to Dunkin Donuts with Grandpa in their pajamas and but a dozen pink donuts, only at the grandparents house!
School is great and someone finished her fluency folder this month, she was excited that her teacher ran out of copy money and wouldn't be able to copy the next set of pages until after Spring Break. She got to take a little break from her "yellow folder" and testing on Tuesdays in class and told me daily when she got home from school that her teacher still was out of copy money. We had a conference with her teacher for her third quarter report card, she got all 4's and E's and her teacher had nothing but wonderful things to say about her and how well she has done this year, she is definitely one of the favorites. Mommy fulfilled her promise of having lunch with her better this month and I still continue to volunteer in her class on Monday mornings, I did have to get on J one day for acting out about while I was working with her group, her teacher was surprised by this side of her, she is always a goodie goodie! She came home from school showing me hand games her and her friends play at recess, how the times have changed, Aunt Fonz will have to teacher her the ones we played back in our day, I don't remember them!
J either had a half day or was off on every Friday during the month of March, who planned that! We ventured to Epcot one of those days to check out the start of the Flower and Garden Festival. They were setting it up when we were there with Nana a few weeks earlier and J kept asking when we could go and see the butterflies, she is obsessed with them! We had a nice girls day, we rode some rides, watched the dolphins and spent a lot of time trying to catch butterflies, and surprisingly mommy didn't take many pictures! There were more caterpillars and cocoons than actual butterflies and they weren't as friendly as the ones we saw towards the end of the festival last year. J spent what had to have been 15-20 minutes trying to catch "her" butterfly on her finger to only decide they they are too fast and she couldn't get one, mommy tried too and no luck. We never ventured from the front of the park and by 2:30pm we called it quits, we should have stayed longer since traffic coming home was a nightmare!
Her teeth or lack of teeth have been talked about daily since the holidays. She had been complaining about her gums hurting for a few weeks and every time she would ask if there were "white spots" we'd say no and she would get upset! You could tell that they were both right there, you could even see the ridges along her gums, then one morning when she asked a white spec was there and you would have thought she won the lottery, she was so excited they were "finally" coming in! I was just getting used to her having no teeth, not sure how I feel about big teeth now! She enjoyed soccer in the Fall and decided to give indoor soccer at the YMCA a try, but after a hot mess of a first practice, no coach and not enough kids on the team we decided she'd be better off playing somewhere else and daddy had to quickly find something for her since she was finally motivated (on her terms) to play, maybe she will be a soccer star after all!
This was the first year that we spent Spring Break at home, we've either been in Miami or Atlanta the last couple of years and it was strange not packing up to head somewhere. I was feeling a little guilty we were staying home and that I hadn't made any plans so at the last minute we decided to surprise the girls with tickets to see Disney on Ice the Sunday Spring Break started. They had no idea where we were going, I snuck their princesses dresses into the bag and when we got to the arena asked if they wanted to put their dresses on, then they figured out what we were doing as they had been seeing the commercials on TV! J had been to the arena a few years back to the see the USA gymnasts and remembered going, it was C's first time to an event like this. Once inside their eyes lit up at the vendors selling all of the crap, they were quickly told no since we frequent Disney, but were told they could get a treat, J chose a giant cinnamon sugar pretzel, C had to have the bucket full of popcorn, which she almost ate entirely by herself throughout the show! While we waited for the show to start the girls talked about who/what they might see, of course J wanted to see Aurora (she wasn't in the show) but was OK that her second favorite Belle was. In all they acted out five of the stories and it was a typical Disney production that didn't disappoint. They girls had a good time and that is what mattered, I loved matching their eyes light up and them taking it all in! After the show we had some lunch before we headed home to figure out what we were going to do the rest of the week!
Here are the pictures from the month.
