Week 10

J's personality is starting to develop. She continues to amaze me each day and learn/do something new. We are fortunate that I will have been home with her for 14 weeks before having to go back to work. Then the Grandma's will take turns for a couple of weeks before she has to go to daycare. We will then be getting reports on her first milestones and not getting to witness them for myself, unless she saves all of her 1st's for the weekends!

Her mouth has been on the discovery table the last week. She has started making new sounds, she is finding more vowels in her register, and talking back at me already! She has also discovered her tongue and has started acting like she is chewing gum, why does she chew on her tongue, doesn't it hurt? She continues to blow bubbles and drool, bibs are a must now! She loves to put her hands in her mouth and just yesterday put her rings in her mouth for the first time. Sooner or later she is going to get her whole fist in her mouth!

She discovered the mirror this week and makes faces and gives smiles to the "other baby" in the mirror. I also think she discovered Ginger for the first time this week when she was doing tummy time on her mat. She also now starts to turn towards mommy and daddy's voices.

We are down to five feedings a day and she continues to sleep well, she slept until 7am the other day! Mommy and daddy were even been able to go to bed at the same time a couple of times this week. She is somewhat on a schedule now, interrupt the schedule and we have a baby who wants to play (not eat) at 3:30am.

She can easily keep herself entertained on her play mat for 30 minutes now and sometimes up to an hour. She talks, giggles, smiles, hits, kicks and squeals at her friends (the animals) and I just love to sit there (or lay next to her) at watch as her eyes get big and bright. The toucan is her favorite animal this week.

Aunt H spent almost the whole week with us (Uncle M came out for the weekend). We were busy and on the go showing them the sites of Dallas. We played dress up with some of J's hats and had our first trip to the Galleria Mall where everyone stopped us and told us over and over again how beautiful/cute she is.

We are going to Florida next week to celebrate Baby G's 1st birthday and then to Miami before mommy has to go back to work. Hopefully we'll get a few blogs done while we are there, if not we'll get everyone updated when we get back.

  1. Love seeing the photos of Julia enjoying her play mat so much.It is a popular gift that I always send to my friends new grandbabies. She could be in an advertisement or commercial for it.... she is such a pretty baby.
Hoping to meet her when you are here in Miami. Safe travels.
    Fondly, Sue Moran
