Week 13

Week 13 came and went. Most of the week was spent in Miami meeting and visiting with family and going from here to there. We needed a score card to keep up with where we were going next!

Friday we took it easy, had some lunch at the Ale House with Grandma and Grandpa and then went to the Falls to do a little shopping. The weather was perfect and it was nice to be outdoors and get some fresh air. Later that night we went over to Nana and Pop Pop's house for some famous Frankies pizza where J met some more family and friends.

Gotta sport the U when in Miami
Saturday we had a girls breakfast with one of mommy's oldest friends. It was great to catch up and have her meet J, hopefully she will bring her boots and come visit us in Texas one day. After lunch we headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's house where it was time for J to have her first Brazilian BBQ (she'll have to wait a while to actually eat the meat) and meet her Great Gram who fell in love with her (how doesn't fall in love with J?).

Sunday morning we had some brunch and then headed to Nana and Pop Pops for a fish fry. Pop pop, Uncle J and Uncle M had a successful fishing trip a few weeks back and had frozen some fish for us, and it was really good! Nothing like fresh caught fish, something we don't get here in Texas unless you are willing to pay top dollar for it at Central Market (the only place a Florida girl can get some Grouper).

Monday or last day in Miami we had lunch at Shorty's BBQ, but unfortunately after living in Texas and finding the best BBQ place here (Hard 8 which I have mentioned a few times), Shorty's (other than their corn) just doesn't do it for us anymore.. Later that night we finished our Miami cravings with some Cuban food, something else we can't get here in Dallas, plenty of Mexican but no Cuban and called it a night. We had to be up early to get packed and head to the airport.

Exhausted...glad to be heading home.
Tuesday we said our goodbye's (for the Grandma's it was easier as they were coming out to Big D in the next few weeks) and crossed our fingers, would J behave again on the plane? Of course she did, she is an angel! As we were deplaning in Dallas a lady even told me "I was afraid when I saw you walk on the plane with a newborn, but was amazed at how well she behaved". Thank you nice lady but I do not expect anything else from my child. Like I have always said, children are a direct reflection of their parents (well maybe not at this age just yet).

All of the traveling and meeting new people was a little much for J. She was off of her schedule for almost two weeks and you could tell that it was getting to her. Although we hated to leave our families we were glad to be home to some peace, quiet and a schedule. I can report that Wednesday J was back on her schedule and so happy to see her animal friends. She squealed in delight when she saw them when we got home!

She has been fascinated by her hands lately, they are constantly in her mouth. She is also reaching and grabbing at more things. We introduced her to her WubbaNub friend, little lamb, who she has fallen in love with, thanks Aunt F!
