Week 19

Well to start off you can tell this was a rough week because there are only 16 pictures in this weeks album!

J did great after her shots this round, we kept her home from daycare on Friday just to monitor her but they didn't seem to phase her too much this time. Mommy played hookie from work in the morning and took J into the office for a visit. Then daddy came and had lunch with us and took her home for afternoon duty. After work we went to Home Depot to see about getting a new area rug for J (the wool rug just doesn't seem to be to child friendly) and look at patio furniture so that we can start eating outside, we figured out what we wanted, we just needed to figure out how to get it home since our 4 door sedans just don't cut it for HD trips. Well...I'm glad we had to wait to purchase things because once we got home the way we were going to spend our money clearly changed.

We got home, and I was in the bathroom getting J's bath ready and I could hear "bleep", "bleep", "bleep" coming from J's room. My first yell back was "you better not be talking to my child like that, I don't care what she has done (thinking maybe she pooped or peed all over her daddy). It was then I heard the water leak part, oh great just what we needed. I gave J a bath, daddy headed to the attic to see what had happened and found that the drain line for the AC was clogged and the pan was over flowing. YIPPPIE!!!! After J's bath I took her into her room to get her dressed and saw the damage for myself. I got on the step stool and checked out the ceiling, it was wet and then looked at the wall and said, everything out, I knew we were going to have to take part of ceiling and wall out. So that is what we did until 10pm that night, removed EVERYTHING from J's room and sealed up her closet. Sometimes I am thankful for what we do for a living and the people we know, one of my maintenance techs from work was coming in the morning to start the demo. We put everything but J's crib into the guest room, for once I was happy we had no house guests visiting and then assembled J's crib in our room, we'd be having a sleep over for the week!

To make a long story short Saturday and Sunday was a mess between demoing and putting new sheet rock up in J's room and mommy taking down the wall paper in our bathroom. But we did find a way to get our new patio table home from HD since my tech drives a truck and he had to get sheet rock! If we had to get the painters there to finish J's room might as well finish our bathroom that has been on the back burner since we moved in. So much for the quiet/relaxing weekend I wanted to have! And thanks to Auntie K for watching J for a couple of hours so I (while daddy went to work for a few hours) could tackle the wall paper glue minus having to care for J.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning the work at the house continued and that side of the house was a MESS (well a mess for my standards). Nothing like sheet rock and popcorn ceiling dust and having to clean it up! All I wanted to do every night when I got home from work was swiffer, clean, swiffer some more and then clean some more. By Thursday J's bedroom was clean (to my standards) and put back together and everyone was back to sleeping in their own rooms. Friday I finished cleaning our bedroom/bathroom (although I still feel the fine dust and want to continue cleaning) and things were somewhat back to normal. What an exhausting week it was! And to think I wanted to tackle the our bathroom part while I was on maternity leave!

What was J up to this week? Well she spent more time in front of the TV and Baby Einstein's than I would have liked but it was the easiest way to keep a 4 month old entertained while mommy and daddy were cleaning, moving furniture and trying to get our house back in order! She is now able to spin in the exersaucer (she must have learned that at daycare) and is trying to pull herself up to a sitting position in her bouncy seat. She is a happy baby and brought many smiles to this gloomy week :)
