38 months

Another busy month in the books which started off  with our Dallas chapter coming to a close, getting in our last fixes and saying our goodbyes. We had our last meal as a family the Friday night before Daddy hit the road to drive to Florida at the Italian restaurant up the street. We had been going for pizza at least twice a month after J's swim lessons for the last year and a half and it had become our little family tradition, as J put it when we left "we need to find a new pizza place in Tampa".

The girls spent a few days together finishing packing up the house, hanging out in jammies, playing in the tree swing, hanging out with friends and waiting for the moving crew to arrive in Dallas. Daddy, Aunt Boo and Uncle Mikey arrived to help close the Dallas chapter and move on to the Bradenton (or Tampa as we have told J) chapter of our life. The day we left (going back to January 29th) the girls had their last day of daycare while everyone else oversaw the movers packing the truck. I think J was disappointed that she didn't get to help pack  but we got them from school before the truck left so that she could see the last little bit get loaded, the truck get closed and drive away. Goodbye's were hard, one of J's teachers let J take pictures of her friends and then printed them out for her so she would remember them, the other made her a little school care package so that she could continue to learn how to write her name, so sweet! The daycare the last three years has been like a family to us and I am grateful for the wonderful care they took of the girls.

Mommy, Aunt Boo and the girls flew to Miami (in what would be J's last plane ride for a long while!) while daddy and Uncle Mikey hit the road for a long two day car trip. J behaved well on the plane, she just couldn't decide what she wanted to play with and would change her mind every five minutes! It was a long emotional day and we were all glad when it was over!

We celebrated C's birthday a few days early while we were all in Miami and then mommy and daddy left to go get the new house settled in. The girls hung out in Miami for over a week with their grandparents and had a great time, they probably don't miss us when they are away from us, they are well rounded kids! J went to the zoo twice, once with Nana and once with Grandma, she loves the zoo and seeing all of the animals. Nana and Pop Pop took her out for pasta and Grandma let her help cook and even let her use a knife! J is pretty content staying home (she is a home body at a young age) and playing with HER (yes they are all hers!) toys at each house. She loves to cook at Nana's and play play-doh at Grandma's. She has babies to take care of at each house so she is quite content most of the time.

Mommy took her first solo road trip down 75 to pick the kids up. I stayed for a few days to hang and then us girls hit the road Valentine's morning to get back to our Valentine. In all for their first car ride the girls were good. I surprised J with the DVD player in the car (we've had the car for a year and a half and she's had no clue you can play movies). While I thought she would be ecstatic to watch Peter Pan the entire way, she wasn't to interested in watching movies! We stopped half way at Chick-fil-A for lunch and then headed the rest of the way. She got all excited when we entered our new development and she saw the ponds and birds. We pulled up to the house and daddy was waiting for us and to give her a tour of her new home. She immediately came inside and started checking the place out. She found her "Paris White" room and all of her stuff. She picked out a pink room and has since been calling it by the colors name, oh this kid! Daddy took her to check-out the park that is across the street from our house, of course she is now calling it HER park! The girls love their playroom and I love that their mess is contained to one area of the house, if I don't feel like cleaning it up we can shut the doors (maybe I should put some paper on the glass).

The rest of the month was spent settling into our new house, city and new routine since mommy is now staying home, big adjustment when you have spent the last couple of years in a high stress job! We've found the local mall and the awesome play place they have, we've been making it almost a weekly outing to play one morning a week. We've also started a weekly picnic at the various parks around our community to tire the girls out for their afternoon naps, J's favorite thing to play on is the slides, she would slide all day if you let her. J picked her lunch box for school and has already gotten her back pack ready to go for when she starts next week.

Daddy bought J her first tennis racket and attempted to give J a mini lesson, her attention span is still to short and her coordination not that good! Maybe they need to try again with less distraction.

Puzzles are still her thing and she is also a big fan of her "match" games (I think we are up to having five different ones now). We play a 20 card game and she holds her own, she has a good memory for a three year old! Her favorite phrase this month is "what are we going to do", she constantly has to be doing something (and wants you to play with her) and is in motion. I wish I wrote down everything this kid said or had a tape recorder going at all times as she talks like a book and never shuts up, it amazes me of what comes out of her mouth and what she comprehends for a three year old, we are in trouble!

Here are the pictures from the month.
