C spent her actual birthday in Miami without us, it was a little sad being away from her but knew she was being well spoiled by her grandparents and sister. She did great being away from us for 10 days and is very well rounded just like her sister. She was so excited to see me when I went to pick the girls up, she had a little bit of mommyitis :) She did well on her first long car ride although it took her a little while to settle into the fact that she was going to be strapped into her car seat for some time and just needed to chill out. I'm sure she will do better when she is front facing and can see the TV in the car, a few more month and we will switch you around. I broke up the trip and we stopped and had Chick-fil-A for lunch in Naples, someone had a food coma and slept pretty much the rest of the way to our new home (not much to report on her and the new house, she's too little but likes the playroom!).
Grandma taught her how to clean, can I put her to work yet?

We had another month of firsts as I previously posted about. Someone is actually now walking as her primary means of transportation, no more crawling. She also got her first tooth which I don't think is helping her gums of steel out too much! This kid shovels so much food in her mouth sometimes I don't know how she gets it down! She has been trying lots of new foods and eats a good variety of different things. Cheese and pasta are probably her favorite!
Her vocabulary is starting to take off and pretty soon she is going to be a little repeat like her sister. We are working on 1-2 new words a week which she is picking up pretty quickly. She definitely has "no" down and isn't afraid to use it when she doesn't like or want to do something! She's pretty opinionated for a one year old! Senta (which is sit in Portuguese) is probably her favorite word right now, she is always saying it and telling everyone else to "senta" too, especially J when they are taking a bath! She also loves the word cheese both for the food and my camera. When she sees both she says "cheese" with the biggest little grin, she is a ham!
C went for her one year old check-up to our new pediatrician (she did her residency at UM so she is OK in my book!). I thought I wouldn't like a smaller practice but the doctors and staff are much more personable and spend more time with you (not sure if it is the practice or just being in a smaller city in general). Miss C had a great check-up, she is up to 21.9 pounds (77%) and 30.5 inches (86%, I think they mismeasured her at the doctor in Dallas). The poor thing got four shots and a finger prick to check her iron. J was with us and I had taken her out of the room for the finger prick and about five minutes later the nurse came and got us and I was like "is she done already? I didn't hear her cry", that's because she didn't, but boy did she cry when she got her shots. After her appointment we took the girls for some fro-yo, good tradition to start when they get owies at the doctor.
C is enjoying her trips to Publix with mommy and getting her cookie to keep her occupied when we shop, she also likes to read the circular and tear out the coupons! We are both adjusting to our new routine of her not being in daycare (her never stopping snotty nose is gone!), mommy is getting a workout lifting and carrying her around the house everyday! She likes the park, although there isn't much for her to do without mommy helping her out since she is still a little wobbly on her feet, so we take her push car and she pushes it around most of the time when we are there. She is more of a fan of the new mall and play place there, she can run around and tumble without getting hurt! Also this month she has started taking to the many babies we have, she likes to steal J's and loves, kisses and drags them around the house.
I am trying to start switching her to a sippy cup during the day but as you can see she isn't a fan of milk in the cup. I know I need to go full turkey and just do it but I don't have daycare this time making me do it. Since she is our last and I love the cuddles I get with the bottle a few more months won't hurt anyone!
Here are the pictures from the month.
Keep the bottle!!! I love those moments too! Bjs. VĂ³
