39 months

The month started with J starting her new school. She has adjusted well to all of the change and is enjoying being in preschool. She warmed up rather quickly to her teachers and the other kids and is fitting in just fine. Every morning the kids have to sign themselves in so she is practicing writing her name, she has a long way to go but it's a start, she does have the "L" and "I" down pat! She loves circle time, painting (as long as she doesn't get messy), the dress up and kitchen area, the doll house and of course the playground! She's been helping me to pack her lunch and even insists on taking three prunes in a bag with her lunch. Every weekend she wants to bring Tag-a-long Teddy home with us, hopefully she will get to bring it home again before school ends in May. They had an egg hunt for Easter and had a Daddy's Dessert night for the dads and kids since most of the dads aren't around much during the week. J and Daddy made it into a date night and went to dinner first and then headed to school for the event. They had plenty of sweets and worked on gluing stuff to J's picture frame she had painted the week before in class. The teachers took a picture of Daddy and J so that she can put it in her special frame, it was a special night for them.

J is my outdoors girl and loves being outside, her fair skin and red hair don't like being outside but we lather up in sunscreen and always wear a hat! She is enjoying picnic lunches at the parks and enjoys the park with the big tunnel slide the best! I swear one day she might have gone down the slide over 50 times, she was making me dizzy just watching her do the same thing over and over again! She is also enjoying our almost daily walks up to the big lake to look for the alligator and then around our neighborhood as we look for different birds. The beauty of living across the street from the park is we always end our walk though there and get to play for a few minutes and check out to see which dogs are playing in the dog parks. While I thought she would want to play non-stop at the splash park we've only splashed a few times as she said the water is cold!

Daddy bought J her first soccer ball, of course it had to be pink, did you expect less! They took it to the park and we have a mini Mia Hamm in the making! For her first time kicking the ball around with dad she wasn't bad! She can dribble the ball pretty well and is an OK kicker. This fall we will have to get her onto a soccer team.

I joined the area mom's group and took J to an outing at the indoor play gym up the street. At first she was shy and didn't want to be there but she finally warmed up and had a great time with some of the other kids. We met one of the mom's and kids we met at the park for a play date and J had a great time with the boys. We are going to try and meet up weekly and hopefully with some other moms to get to know people. There really is so much to and and LWR is very family oriented, just need to find all of the various things to get involved it.

I'm pretty sure J has outgrown her nap phase, maybe one day a week she will actually still fall asleep. We now call the afternoon "rest time" and she has been doing very well (and making mommy happy to have some quiet time!) at reading books in her bed and playing with her many stuffed animals for about 1-2 hours while C actually naps. Sometimes if she is being good I let her "rest" on our bed with her shows. If it wasn't for this time I wouldn't have a chance to work on my blog, pictures and other projects I'm working on for the kids.

Our pool started at the beginning of March and J is super excited to watch the progress as it has been happening. Every day she asks if they are here and what they are going to do today. We all can't wait for it to be done and to be swimming a few times a week. Mommy is going to continue J's swim lessons at home and water proof the kid some more!

Someone isn't much of a fan of the camera or video camera these days. It is hard to get her to look at the camera and smile without her telling me to "go away" or "leave her alone". I've had to bribe something for most of the shots I get!

She still wants to help with C as much as she can, she is my helper in the kitchen and around the house. I continue to shake my head daily at what comes out of her mouth, I need to video tape her more often for the things she says, no wonder C is picking up her vocabulary pretty fast!

Here are the pictures from the month.
