As I said in the last post the terrible two's are in full swing and the Dr. Jekel/Mr. Hyde personalities are starting to show, Dr. Jekel more often not to mommy's liking. At times C is just flat out mean to us all and screams until she gets her way. But then there are times that she is sweet and very polite. Her
phrase of late is "may I have" and she is good at saying please and
thank you. She loves her big sister and wants to do everything she does, J for
the most part has great patience with her but there are times when she
wants to be left alone and C doesn't understand, enter Dr. Jekel. We are starting to try timeouts and sometimes she puts herself in her room just so that she can sneak a hit on her wubbie. Oh this kid needs school, someone to boss her around, bite her and beat her up, is it August yet? She needs a taste of her own medicine and her sister is too sweet (or knows she will get into trouble herself)! I'm not wishing her to grow up but man I can't wait till she is four and the 2/3 stages are over!
While J is at school we have been getting back into walking and also have had some play dates with her little friend C. We went to story time at the library for Dr. Seuss' birthday, went to the park and they came over to play. It is great for C to play with someone her own age and I love watching the two of them (both strong personalities) boss each other around. C's little friend is moving to Clearwater at the end of school so we won't get to see them as much as we do.
We took a few trips to the aquarium this month to see the new otter exhibit. Just like her sister she was fascinated with the otters, she ran around chasing them and screaming at them as they swam through the water. When she wasn't watching the animals she was practicing her gymnastics on the railings they have around the exhibits, this kid! No trip is complete without them making me stop to get a flattend penny to add to their collection and a chocolate chip cookie from the snack counter, C is our little Cookie Monster!

She got to go on J's class field trip to pick strawberries. She did pretty good at picking them (last time she mostly watched) but most of what she picked ended up in her mouth. She also insisted on carrying the heavy bucket (probably 5-7 pounds when we were done) and lugged it up and down the aisles following me. We went a few other times this month and the trips were pretty much the same, pick berries, eat them, drag the heavy bucket and throw a fit when it was time to leave.
The weather has been great except for the pollen that put C and mommy on allergy medicine for the month, I will love the day I don't have to pin her down and shove a syringe down her throat. Water play season has started and we have been playing at the splash park and on the patio with the water table, the pool is still in the upper 70's and too cold. C loves the water, isn't afraid to get her face wet and hopefully will be a little fish like her sister is (she starts lessons after Memorial Day). She is good about wearing her hat, sunshirt and sunscreen, she actually gets mad when J gets some on school days and she doesn't. She doesn't have the fair skin J does and is looking like a Florida baby with a nice little tan.
We spent Spring Break in Atlanta with her cousins and had a great time. For not being much of a long car traveler she was just shy from an angel in the car, she only had a few meltdowns because she was tired and was too interested in what was going on to sleep. We got home just in time for Easter. The Easter Bunny came to the house and brought the girls new suits and dresses. C was excited to dig into her basket, we spent a quiet morning playing at the splash park and in the water table. After nap time we headed over to a friends house for a BBQ and egg hunt, it wasn't an all out Aunt Boo and Uncle Mikey egg hunt but the kids (and parents) had fun (and ate too many Hershey's Kisses!).
C's dance class has come to an end, the session ended and the next session was to prepare for the recital at the end of May, I wasn't sure how she'd do when costumes had to be ordered in October so we skipped out. The last two classes she went to the adults stayed out of the room. At first she wasn't sure about it but then had fun with the other girls. They colored, played games, hula hoops, and when it came time to practice the recital dance she was one of two who payed attention to the teacher and danced, she really surprised me and I was so proud of her. She is going to be fine when school starts in August, maybe I will have to sign her up for the little dance class there is after school since she seemed to like it.
All she has wanted to eat this month was a peanut butter sandwich since I introduced her to it, her and daddy are two peas in a pod in this department. She has refused strawberries since we got back from Atlanta, she is strawberried out (I kinda don't blame her, we ate a lot this month). We've been working on her coloring and painting skills. One day she was coloring and went running to the playroom and came back with a toy hammer, look at the picture and you will laugh, the things she comprehends at a young age, she wanted to fix Eeyore's tail too. Mickey is still her BFF and goes everywhere and does everything with her (Elsa is a close second).
Here are the pictures from the month.
