The month started with a swollen eye thanks to the mosquitoes from Halloween. I had noticed it was a little swollen in the morning and gave her some Benedryl but when she woke up from her nap her right eye was completely swollen shut. Of course it was 4:30pm and the doctors office was closed so we tried something new, a virtual doctor. Of course she had an allergic reaction to the bite and some medicine had to be called in. She missed the next day of school, when we went to drop off J and tell her teacher she would be out she sent us home with the letter "F" activity they were doing that day, yay for feathers all over my clean house! Using the glue stick was her favorite part.
Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit while mommy and daddy went away for a few days to run our Disney race. We weren't missed, they wanted nothing to do with talking to us, except when we would show them a character. Of course they conned Grandpa into making them lots of "steakie", C had her usual tantrums and everyone was tired when we got back! C was very interested in seeing our medals and pictures from the weekend.
School is going great but C still looks forward to her non-school days! After letter "F" they took a break from the letters to work on some holiday projects, C's art work collection is starting to build up. Her class had a little Thanksgiving feast on the playground, of course she only ate the mac and cheese I made and a cookie, she wouldn't try anything else. She participated in her first trike-a-thon and chose to take her Mickey ride-on since she can't pedal her bike by herself yet. She zipped around the track like a bat on wheels, after about 15 minutes they were all tired out and ready for their snack! She hasn't been doing to well with eating her lunch at school so I am trying to be creative to get her to eat, a waffle with peanut butter is her new favorite thing to take!
We celebrated Thanksgiving and J's birthday in Miami this year. We were gone for a week and the girls enjoyed spending time with family. We kept it pretty low key week (which was very nice) and the girls spent a lot of time outdoors picking weeds, finding snails and digging in the dirt. We had a few meals out but enjoyed sitting around Grandpa's BBQ the most, and of course eating steak! We went to the park, fed the ducks and the girls spent over an hour playing "Paw Patrol" on the playground. Not having to rush getting out of our jammies and out the door was so nice!
Thanksgiving morning was quiet and the girls enjoyed watching the Macy's parade. I was surprised it kept them entertained as long as it did and they were excited to see Santa at the end. Later that afternoon we headed over to Aunt Boo and Uncle Mikey's for a big celebration filled with lots of chaos, food and love! C tried my stuffing and I think actually liked it, she gobbled down Uncle Mikey's turkey, it was very yummy! She enjoyed playing with her cousin and all of his toys and after a no nap day at 8pm was telling us she was tired. The next day was J's birthday and someone did not understand that the presents are not for her! Guess mommy should have gotten her a little un-birthday present to make her happy!
When we got home it was time to put the turkeys away and pull out the Christmas decorations! C kept exclaiming "this is the best Christmas ever" as we put up the outside lights and their inflatables. Our elf arrived back from the North Pole and C is very into him this year, she races out of bed in the morning to get J and go find him (they are scared to go by them self). She sort of helped decorate the bottom of the tree, J was a little bossy and pretty much took over the decorating and made C her helper, sound familiar?
Frozen is still being watched a few times a week, I now have a drummer to go with her singing. She is also very much into Elena of Avalor and can't wait to meet her at Disney. My lefty loves to help in the kitchen, pancakes are her favorite thing to help with, she gets the bowl and mix out by herself and loves to stir (once mommy gets it started so the mix doesn't go everywhere!).
Here are the pictures from the month.
