39 months

We had another busy month in the books. The days are flying by and the girls are growing up like weeds, I wish they'd make some "human weed control". The terrible threes are still in full swing and while I talk about time going too fast this phase is not going by fast enough. I don't wish them to grow up but man I wish this phase would end! The only good thing is that it's mainly at home and she is an angel at school and most of the time in public. Eating is typically and argument and it takes over 30 minutes to complete a meal, after many bribes, yells and threats. She is too interested in what everyone else is doing and talking rather than eating, there have been nights she has gone to bed without a meal, and you'd think the next morning she'd be starving and gobble her food down, oh no, we start the cycle all over again!

The pool has finally started to get to where mommy will go in and someone picked right up where she was last summer. She was a little hesitant the first time we went in but after about 30 minutes she was thinking she was a mermaid and could swim the entire length of the pool. We need to work on her kicking, she is wiggling her but when she kicks, and does more of a dolphin kick than a flutter kick, definitely my mermaid! Hopefully we can get her floating on her back, she is pretty squirmish when I lay her down and won't let go of me! She is getting back to the wall when she jumps in (or mommy throws her in, she didn't like that), now to get her to "elbow, elbow, tummy, knee" out of the pool. I love that the girls are fearless in the water and enjoy swimming, when they are older they will definitely be mermaids!

We spent Mothers Day weekend at Disney World, isn't that what every mom wants to do? C was super happy this trip, she got to ride the Mine Train for the first time and got to wear her Elena dress to meet Elena! All she has wanted for months was the Elena dress and when she got it for Easter she was ecstatic! When she found out we were going to Disney the first thing she asked was if she could wear her dress to meet Elena, how could I say no! So we packed it in the diaper bag and before we went to meet Elena she changed into her dress. Just like the other times she was so excited to see Elena, but she immediately noticed that their dresses were not exactly the same, C's dress had some white while Elena's was all red. When it was her turn the first thing she asked was "why does your dress not have white?", Elena smiled at her and was probably like good observation kid. She told C that she had on her day dress while she was wearing her coronation dress, now C thinks she needs another dress! They talked, laughed, posed for some pictures and twirled together before we left. I love seeing her so happy with her idol, she really is mesmerized by her. She was also ecstatic that she was tall enough to ride the Mine Train (she was upset she wasn't tall enough for Soarin, this kid is fearless), we had to drag her sister on to make it a family affair. While I thought she would be a little timid she was super happy and walked right onto the coaster. She watched as we turned every corner and her eyes lit up when we got inside the mine cave and she saw the animatronics, she wasn't scared when we went down the two drops and when the ride was over wanted to go again!

School came to an end this month. C had a great year with her teacher and in her class. She learned all of her letters, she now knows almost all of the lower case letters, and her numbers 1-10. She is doing very well sounding out the letters and has started to work on her name. The last two weeks of school she went every day while I was in class. She was in one of the three year old classes on Tuesday/Thursday and started to work on tracing her name. The teacher was impressed at the level she's at, this kid is going to need some challenging next year, she kind of just coasted this year. Cutting is one of her new favorite things to do and while she is our lefty she is cutting with her right hand. She loved watching the caterpillars in J's class and went to the release with us, she got her own butterfly to set free, hers didn't stick to the flower so we borrowed one that did to get a picture.

We spent the first week of summer chilling at home and getting ready for our trip to Miami. The girls have been good about "trying" to be quiet when they wake up, it's usually the high squeaky voices of Alvin and the Chipmunks that wake us up! Someone is back to taking naps regularly (thank goodness) and the days she doesn't she is miserable and in bed by 6:30pm. It has been too hot to go to the park and someone is missing her swing time, hopefully we'll have some cloudy days and get can there for her (so that her little but doesn't get burnt on the black rubber of the swing).

Here are the pictures from the month.
