Two hands now

J's been SIX for over two weeks now! She is no longer a single hand kid, she now needs to use two hands to show her age. This last year has just flown by and we went from a preschooler to a kindergartner. She got her first wiggly tooth right before her birthday and has grown up right before our eyes this last year. There have been years that I have seen a bigger change in her and this was one of them.

Her birthday this year was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and since she chose to have a birthday party there was no extended Disney trip. But I couldn't let a birthday pass without a trip to see Mickey, so we went to Disney on her actual birthday, I know crazy being a holiday weekend! We were up early and out of the house about 7am, got to the parking lot just before 9am and were inside the park by 9:30am. After our encounter with Epcot race weekend I was prepared for not being able to move down Main Street, well to our surprise J and I were able to skip down Main Street! We headed to the castle for a birthday shot and then went to find her a birthday button, we made sure to tell everyone it was her actual birthday that day! She got to pick all of our FastPasses and chose all we did that day, C was a little upset and made it a point she didn't want a party and wanted a Disney trip instead!

To my surprise we were able to pack A LOT into our day, the park wasn't nearly as crowded as I thought it would be! Before lunch we rode Peter Pan (a trip isn't complete without this ride), the Little Mermaid, Dumbo, the carousel and race cars. We met Minnie and Daisy and just before lunch we went and saw Tinkerbell. As always she was wonderful with the kids and J thought it was funny she told her she was almost a grown-up, she says she's a kid!

We traded in dinner at Tony's (so we could see the Frozen show at the castle that night) for a birthday lunch instead. J gobbled down some spaghetti and meatballs and we got to sing to her, she didn't waste any time blowing the candle out! I hope she made a wish, she said she did! She only ate part of her ice cream, Grandpa ended up polishing it off for her!

After lunch we went to Enchanted Tales with Belle, ever since J got to be Chip she had been talking about getting to be Mrs. Potts. Well it was her birthday and mommy made some magic happen for her and C! The girls did their part (hopping like teapots) to get picked and when they did she thought it was so cool (I couldn't ruin the fun for her) and was so excited she got to be who she wanted too! The little show started and when it was their turn the girls got up and acted out their little part, they make a cute little tea cup/pot pair don't they? They got to parade around with Belle and J was as happy as she could be, it was the best birthday ever!

The rest of the afternoon we spent dodging the growing crowds. We rode Small World and looked for hidden Mickeys and called out all the countries, relaxed in the Country Bears, J rode the magic carpets with daddy, the adults had some Dole Whip and we saw the Tikki Birds. The cast member at the entrance to the Tikki Birds saw J's button and asked her if she wanted to do something special, we got to wake up Jose and start the show! We used our last FastPass to ride Buzz (J loves this ride too) while we waited for the dance party and Frozen castle lighting.

The girls love the Move It Shake It Dance Party and it usually gets their wiggles out! They had a fun time dancing in the street to the music, none of us have any rhythm, and its always something they want to do and is fun! We had parked by Minnie's float this day and C had her eye on Baloo the entire time, she kinda freaked out when he came too close and I'm surprised she didn't start crying! J is a little more timid and shy but at times likes to boogie! We killed some time walking around and getting the girls ice cream while we waited for it to get dark and then watching Elsa ice the castle over, what a pretty sight to see. That was the end of our day and we headed for the exits.

J wanted McDonalds in the car for dinner so that is what she got. When she didn't eat her food and said her tummy hurt about 20 minutes into the I-4 drive that wasn't a good sign. I'll spare the details but our great day didn't end so well, someone ended up with the little tummy bug C had, at least it happened at the end of the day and not in the middle of the fun! We still had a great day and the next day she was feeling much better. She had a great day turning six and we made memories she will be talking about this next year. To your next chapter Miss J!

Here are the pictures from the day.
