This week started with Miss C turning 4 months old. I can't believe the time has gone this fast, next thing I know she will be turning one! She is already too big for her britches like her sister!
Miss C was still under the weather this week and out of daycare (we are on week three of paying for daycare and her not going, I'd love to have that money back in my bank account!). Daddy stayed home with her on Monday and mommy got to stay home with her on Tuesday. Juggling her back and forth these last couple of weeks has been hard, Grandma to the rescue!
Miss C and I picked up Grandma from the airport on Tuesday and headed to see a specialist as our pediatrician wanted a second opinion. After meeting with him and discussing Miss C's case for the last few weeks, he definitely agreed she had some sort of intestinal virus but wasn't sold on the diagnosis the pediatrician made as he said all babies test positive for what they told us she had. He didn't want to do any further testing (but did send us for an x-ray to make sure that she didn't swallow anything as we do have a two year old at home who won't leave her sister alone) as he said he would pretty much treat all intestinal infections the same to begin with (mom even brought stool samples in case he wanted them, but he didn't so they tupperware and all went in the trash!). A month of medication treatment (reducing dosage and I had to make a spreadsheet to keep track of what to give her and when), soy formula and a probiotic and he said most likely that would do the trick, and he also said TLC with Grandma wouldn't hurt :)
So Miss C spent the week at home hanging out with Grandma who was a great big help while she is here. I am so thankful to have a wonderful mother-in-law who will pretty much drop everything (except if she has a trip scheduled to Paris!) to help us out when we need her. Work has been so stressful that it was nice to have laundry done, bottles washed, kids well taken care of, diapers changed, baths given, and everything else she did for us to give mom and dad a break (I'm looking forward to her coming back in August). Mom and dad even got to sneak out for some time (we went to the Indy car race and stayed at the hotel by the track for the night) and Grandma and the girls had their special time (and we know Grandpa was jealous he wasn't here, next time and we are going for two nights!).
Even when sick Miss C is a very happy baby. She is full of smiles and has a lot to say these days. She still hasn't mastered rolling over, Grandma is trying very hard to get her to while she is here. It is the least Miss C can do for Grandma since she came to visit and take care of her! She is playing more in the exersaucer and can spin herself around, she also is spending more time in the bumbo, maybe we'll get rid of the bald spot on the back of her head soon :) She is a ham in front of the camera and smiles as soon as she see's that you are going to take her picture!
