This week brought on the smiles! J smiled for the first time on Christmas Eve and then really showed off some smiles Christmas morning.
Friday was J's 4 week birthday. I was feeling guilty about not having a picture with Santa for her first Christmas so I got up and was in line at the mall to get a number at 9am. I was was 130 (there were people who had been in line since 7am...NUTS) and told to be back between 3:00-3:30pm for our photo. Santa Claus at Northpark Mall here in Dallas is like a ride at Disney World, you need a Fast Pass! I'm glad I asked when we were at the mall earlier in the week because I never thought you would need a number to see Santa. We got back to the mall about 3pm, checked-in with the Santa police, were told to take a lap around the mall and come back. We went back got in line and finally saw Santa, of course by this time J was sleeping, oh well, better than a screaming picture. In all it took us about an hour from when we got to the mall to us leaving with our picture. Not a bad gig if you know the drill. I felt bad for the people who didn't know they needed a number and had their kids all dressed up to see Santa and were told to come back tomorrow and try and get a number. Next year I think I'll take off from work just to take her to see Santa!
Saturday we ventured a little north to Auntie R's house to introduce J to some of her friends! The kids had been waiting to meet J since she was born and now they get to see that she really existed!
Sunday, Christmas day was also J's one month birthday! We had a quite day at home, video chatted with family and played dress-up to get some pictures (see previous post).
Monday and Tuesday we had quite days at home. Wednesday we ventured back to Northpark (we are going to become big fans of walking around Northpark) to escape our cabin fever and have lunch.
Week five ended with J's first trip to the airport (she better get used to going to the airport) to pick-up Grandma and Grandpa for the long weekend. On the way home we stopped at Hard 8 BBQ (our new stop going to or from the airport) for an early dinner. Sorry J, you have to wait to try the ribs!
