This week (back to April 27th) we celebrated Mommy's birthday! And those of you who know me well know that my birthday is usually not just a day celebration!
Saturday J and mommy had a lunch date. It was nice to catch-up with my non-work at SMU friends something I haven't been so good about doing since J has been born. We had an entertaining (I guess that is how you would describe a lunch that included two children under one) lunch at Grand Lux and then did a little shopping before J started to get cranky and we had to head home. We did though find a white little summer hat that she looks oh so cute in, pictures not till the next post!
That night Aunt J and Auntie K came over for dinner and capirinas to celebrate. Fun times were had, even if the BBQ gas tank ran out in the middle of cooking the steak, poor daddy!
Sunday was my actual birthday and although what was planned didn’t happen, it was a nice day. I had said I wanted to sleep in, well that didn't happen, but I did get to curl up and take a morning nap with J. At the last minute we had a friend from Chicago come to town for the day so we ended up at Twisted Root with him for lunch before he had to hit the road and head north to Oklahoma, instead of going to this French restaurant for linner (the time between lunch and dinner) that we have been wanting to try. Later that night we had champagne and Chinese take out, not your typical birthday dinner! See my new motto is starting to fit me well, just go with the flow, something I never used to do!
What new happened this week? Well J is definitely starting to reach for things like her bottle, she pulls on it and tries to put it in her mouth. She has also discovered the remote, she is her father's daughter and our cell phones. And of course everything goes in the mouth! One morning this week we went in to get her and found her tummy sleeping, she is now a roller in her crib. Still no teeth but maybe soon? The drool continues, even Ginger likes the taste of it!
Oh...and Pop Pop sent her a gift. He said she needed a pink cowgirl hat to match her car. It's WAY to big for her but one day it will fit. And the tiara part lights up, just couldn't get a pic of it as the flash was interfering.
Here are the pics from the week.
more adorable each week ... glad ginger found something about j that she likes lol ... love the hat - poppop is too funny ... xo
ReplyDeletenow if I can just talk "Mom" into a set of Texas steer horns to hang the hat on. Considering Julia & I are the only ones in the family with Dallas birth certificates, and i already have a set of the horns, I think its fitting for Julia to have some too. (do ya think Crystal will know who wrote this)
