Week 25

This was another big week, ear piercing and Mother's Day all in the same weekend!

I was going back and forth on whether or not to just go ahead and get J's ears pierced. If I wanted to do it my window of opportunity was diminishing, they typically recommend getting them done before they are six months old. I consulted with the one person who's opinion means the most to me (Aunt F) and she said that if she had a daughter she would go ahead and do it. Her point was valid, why wait and have her remember the experience, when most likely she is going to want her ears pierced since I do and everyone else in the family does. So with that I did a little research and scheduled J's appointment for that Saturday. Auntie K came with us and boy was I glad she did. She held J while they pierced her ears and when she was done said that there was no way she would have been able to hold her if that was her child, hence why I made her hold J and not me! I had a hard enough time watching and waiting for what felt like an eternity to be over. In all she did well, I gave her two rounds of Tylenol just to be safe and by later that evening she didn't seen bothered and was showing off her new bling! Big THANKS to Auntie K, I wouldn't have been able to do this without you!

Sunday was Mother's Day and mommy had to work for a bit. I got my first cards from J (one she made in school and one daddy helped her pick out) and we got to chat and facetime with the rest of the mom's in the family. As a treat J got her first Mum-Mum cracker and from the video you can tell she wasn't too sure about it at first, then she decided to go to town!

We expanded her palate to apples and sweet potatoes this week. She liked them both and is doing really well with her eating. She is making "mmmm" "mmmm" noises and is opening her mouth after she swallows. She also gets pretty vocal when we take too long in between bites! Oh and she likes to help with the spoon, go figure!

She also met her friend Elmo this week that Aunt J got her a while back. She still can't have him unsupervised as she ends up with red fuzzies all in her mouth!

Here are pictures from the week.
