Week 40

It's hard to believe that 40 weeks have flown by this fast but even harder to believe that J is such a big girl already. The next 12 weeks are going to fly by and we are going to have a one year old on our hands. WHEW...exhausting! I look at some of the new infants in daycare and stare at them thinking, I don't remember J being this small, everyone said to cherish the memories when they were tenny tiny but it is hard when she is changing daily and growing so fast. While we have had an EXTREMELY easy time with J and not many sleepless nights, I don't know that I would want to hit the rewind button. I kind of like where is she is right now, easier, fun, interactive, maybe we can just hit PAUSE for a few more months?

This week we finally got what mommy has been waiting for, the word MAMA!!! Even though she tends to say it when she is mad and it sounds like "mamamama mamama waaaaaaaa" it still melts my heart. And I think there is association with the word and that she is not just babbling it. 

Since she has been doing well pulling herself up and walking around the furniture we figured it was time for a walker. We picked one up over the weekend and she is getting herself acclimated. I'm not ready for a walker just yet so we are not encouraging it too much but I'm sure sooner or later she is going to be a little hellion on wheels around the house!

Some one plays her own version of peek-a-boo. She likes to take the wash cloths we use to clean her face when she is eating and play with them. Cute! We also think she understand the word no and she shakes her head when we say the word or if she doesn't want to do something anymore, like when she is done eating! Yes we are having to use the word no with her more these days that she is mobile but she has been hearing us say the word to poor Ginger since she has been born. I can't wait to hear her say "no Ginger" one day, will probably be her first two word combo!

Someone is also starting to climb on us to try and get to things...again EXHAUSTING!
