We had another busy week in our household. After recuperating from visiting the Jax clan, we had about a week to get things in order, we headed out of town for two weeks to Miami for some much needed family time.
Of courses things don't go easy for us these days. Wednesday night before we left we had to make a trip to the pediatricians office with Miss C. After we got home from school I thought she felt a little warm (101 fever) and called the doctor to take her in (I love our peds office, they are open until 9pm during the week) to get her checked out since we were headed out of town bright and early the next morning. Low and behold she had an ear infection in her right ear, I was glad I took her in. We scrambled to get her prescription filled that night and finally by 10pm everyone was in bed and all the packing was done.
We were all up and out the door by 5:15am the next morning to catch our 7:20am flight. Of course there were more hiccups and what should have taken 30 minutes to get to the airport took over an hour and after our debacle parking the car and checking in, we got to the gate just in time to let the two year old potty, board and take our seats. I crossed my fingers in hope of a good flight...ha I was ready to pull my hair out by the time we landed. The perfect baby that I had a week and a half ago when we flew to Jax tricked us this time. I guess it's because she is more mobile and doesn't want to sit still, the 2:40 minute plane ride seemed like an eternity that was never going to end! I had every trick in the bag (and she did not take the nap she should have) and nothing kept her occupied for more than 5 minutes, all I could think about is we have to do this again in 13 days!
Grandpa was waiting for us at the airport and after making a stop to pick up formula we finally arrived at the house where we could let the little monkey loose to crawl around and exert her energy that was built up! She took a good afternoon nap and after visiting with G&G for the afternoon we headed to Nana and Pop Pops house, we were staying with them the first part of the trip.
Friday we hung out and relaxed while daddy worked. That night N&P babysat while mommy and daddy had a date night out, we got home close to midnight which is a rarity for us! Saturday daddy headed to the Canes game with Aunt Boo and Uncle Mikey.
Miss C spent the morning with Nana, while J and I took Pop Pop to
breakfast and to shop for shoes. Later that night we celebrated Aunt
Boo's birthday (early) and dressed the girls up in their cute matchy
bumble bee outfits from Aunt Boo.
Sunday we spent the day with G&G and Auntie Varee and Uncle G BBQing by the pool. Since Miss C was still on antibiotics for her ear infection she didn't get to swim and hung out on the porch with Grandma most of the time. She had her first taste of steak and went to town! Not sure if this was a smart idea on my part, but she did LOVE it!
C is very much more interested in what J is doing these days. She wants nothing to do with her toys and is all up in J's business and toys (of course why would she want boring toys when she can have things that are more fun like crayons!). Monkey see, monkey do is a good way to describe the mimicking that is she starting to do. I definitely see what people say about siblings growing up faster as they are having to keep up with the bigger kids. While it is amazing to see all that C is doing these days, I would like to hit rewind just a little to get my cuddly baby back at times (we have another Miss Independence in the making)! Wiggle worm and on the move she is!
Here are the pictures from the week.
