Week 37

Our vacation in Miami continued this week. It's amazing what being out of daycare and the Texas climate do for runny noses (and allergies), they stop!

Monday was Aunt Boo's birthday and while she spent the day with J we went to the Ale House (no trip is complete without an AH visit) for lunch with Nana and G&G. Miss C was an angel and an attention getter, everyone stopped by our table to see what all the cuteness was about. Later that night we had dinner at N&P's to celebrate, Miss C ate before we all did or else she would have gobbled down our steak!

Tuesday G&G picked up Miss C for her sleepover she was going to have with them for a few days while mommy, daddy and J headed to Orlando to see the Mouse. I know that Miss C was spoiled a TON while we were gone. She had her first trip to the French Bistro, a restaurant G&G frequent often (they had to show her off), and had some chicken and bread (again with the table food I am going to regret). She tried yogurt and wasn't a big fan and Grandma worked with C on "mama" and clapping her hands while we were gone.

Thursday we came back from Orlando and I heard her say mama for the first time where she associated with me and it just melted my heart. While I missed her while we were gone I was glad to not have taken an 8 month old to Disney.

Friday we spent a girls day with Grandma at Dadeland. We did some shopping to find the girls outfits for our upcoming family photo shoot and to buy daddy's birthday presents and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory where Miss C went to town on the bread, another carb queen in the making. Friday night mommy and daddy had another date night to our local favorite Captains Tavern for some stone crabs which had just come back into season.

Saturday was daddy's birthday and we spent another day BBQing and in the pool at G&G's house. Again C had steak and loved every piece of it. This time we also gave her a little bit of pork and sausage which she had no complaints about either. We enjoyed a nice day relaxing (the pool was too cold to go in) with family. And I forgot to give her a taste of daddys cupcakes.

Sunday we spent the day at N&P's hanging out. We took a walk up to the park in their neighborhood and C had her first swing ride. She liked the swing, guess it is time to start using the one in our tree at home now since hopefully the mosquitoes are gone. Pop Pop cooked one of his famous briskets and our little meat eater gobbled it all up, along with some tots, and banana.

C is doing very well with the table foods we have been giving her, she is becoming less and less fond of the baby food other then the fruits. She is drinking water from a sippy cup, she likes to chew on the spout, still no teeth but maybe she is teething? We've also been able to get the tiny bows into her hair, they don't stay well, the headband still works better (when we remember to put it on), but she looks really cute!

Here are the pictures from the week (and J's pictures from the trip will be in her 34 month blog post).
