Week 32

This was a week of new foods. We introduced J to a full course dinner consisting of a main meal, veggie and fruit (her dessert). No more cereal with just a veggie or fruit for dinner! She seems to like everything she tried this week, prunes, macaroni and cheese, turkey and rice, chicken noodle. We started introducing her to puffs and yogurt melts the last week or so and she just kept making faces and spitting them out. This week she realized she likes them and mmmm's for more! You have to feed them to her, she still hasn't coordinated them into her own mouth. Those that she tries to feed herself end up on the floor for Ginger!

Prunes/apples, macaroni and cheese, green beans hidden in a little bit of cereal
Friday J stayed home and worked with daddy, we took advantage of a free week of daycare since we were out of town most of the week. And then over the weekend she got her first fever, still don't know what caused it, so she was home again on Monday with daddy being fever free for 24 hours before she could go back to school. By Monday night daddy had enough and was tired! She is not the easy/sleepy baby I had while on maternity leave, she is an active one who is starting to get into EVERYTHING! At least though she takes a solid hour and a half nap in the afternoon!

Tuesday night we went out for pizza, our first dinner out as a family in a while. We are more of the go out to lunch people these days. J sat like a big girl in the high chair, played with her toys and ate some puffs and melts. Of course she was the attention getter, those around us were watching and smiling at her and commenting on how well behaved she was. After our flight ordeal the other week I needed to hear that! Our dinners have magically now become a lengthy meal, trying to entertain J and eat yourself is a little challenge. By the end of the meal I was exhausted but we had a very well behaved/social baby!

Wednesday was the 4th of July. Weird to have a middle of the week day off which messed up my schedule for the rest of the week! We didn't do anything exciting, mainly just hung out and played at home, and attempted to take some pictures. We did take a little afternoon dip in the kiddie pool in the backyard (with some beer) and cooked some burgers. No fireworks this year, maybe next.

J is doing much better at her scootin, I'm calling her the little inch worm. She gets around the floor pretty well, I found her by the front door! Not long until she is really crawling! She is also now clapping in Portuguese. Daddy or Grandma will sing to her to clap her little hands and she does it (as long as she isn't too preoccupied with her toys). Now to teach her Patty Cake and to wave bye-bye.

Here are pictures from the week.

  2. love the pics of her and ginny! so last evening i got to watch her eat her 'puffs' ... she opens her mouth like a little bird thinking you are going to pop one in lol ... and i love the look on her face when they disappear when she makes a fist (as it is still in the palm of her hand)and nothing ends up in her mouth ... and best of all the way she eats them - she looks like an ole women gumming them and smacking her mouth - so flippin cute!!! xo nana
