Another month in the books and a fun summer month it was. Like last month we spent a lot of time in the water on the weekends, hanging out in pool at home and playing on the slip and slide which she still hasn't quite grasped the concept of yet. We need to continue to enjoy the mild summer start before the 100's and mosquito's arrive and we have to take an outside hiatus until it cools down. Someone is also doing really well at swimming, the kicking her feet has finally started to sink in and she is swimming farther, year round swimming for us has paid off since we don't have a pool at home.
We celebrated a quite 4th of July at home just hanging out. We did go out to our favorite burger spot for dinner since we didn't feel like grilling and then came home and watched the NYC fireworks on TV. That was right up J's alley since fireworks here were not until almost 10pm and I really think she would have been scared of them in person.
Everyday I continue to be amazed at this kid, what she does and what she says for her age. She loves going to the library and checking out books (although we do not go as often as we should since it is free) and is a puzzle wiz and will sit on the floor for quite some time putting them together. The dollar spot at Target can't change the puzzles out quick enough to keep this kid happy. Her vocabulary is probably that of a four year old and she is putting books together as she talks, I wish I could remember every little thing she says as most of the time I am to caught off guard for what comes out of her mouth.

J continues to be a helpful big sister and wants in on all of the action with C. She is starting to play with her more these days now that C is playing with bigger toys on the floor, although C is very interested in J's toys and we are having to learn to share. She helps pick out C's clothes, fills the diaper stacker, helps make her crib, helps me get her settled at school, and sits with her while she eats. If I could just teach her to chance a diaper and give her a bottle we'd be golden!
We are still having no luck at home on the potty training front, I can't even bribe this kid. She does well at school but once she gets home she refuses to go. I think this is her way of getting my attention and making me do something for her.
Daddy and J had a dinner date (they might have had one long ago) to Chick-fil-A, we need to plan more one-on-one time with her so that she gets us all to herself sometimes and doesn't have to share our attention with C.
Here are the pictures from the month.
I agree with the one-on-one time!! We have always tried to do something like that with G at least once a month since the twins bombarded our family and I think it really helps. Love the snotty nose video- lol.
